The Post-Apocalyptic Epic Fantasy of Earth's Future Tales Of Nevaeh, continues....

—Across the sea, the sorcerers known as the Dark Masters launch a fleet of ships with tens of thousands of warriors. In Nevaeh, charged with an epic journey, Areenna and Mikaal must travel to the desolate Frozen Mountains armed only with their psychic abilities, swords, and Areenna's bow. In this unchartered dangerous region, they must discover not just the legends, but the millennia old secret awaiting them in their fight to save Nevaeh from extermination.

The Dark Masters is the second book in the Tales of Nevaeh series. A mix between Shannara Chronicles by Terry Brooks and The Hundred Series by Kass Morgan, The Dark Masters combines futuristic dystopian societies ruled by sword & sorcery and metaphysical elements with science fiction. Totally Immersive

The world building is fantastic. I can’t stop reading this.

Boring, repetitive, underwhelming

It feels like he stretches a three page short story to over three hundred pages, over explaining painstakingly mundane concepts over and over again. The characters have absolutely no chemistry and manage to not grow any more powerful no matter how many powers they aquire. There are little to no demonstrations of these powers, just constant talk about how powerful they are supposed to be. While the main characters are joined to the powers of eight ancient beings, plus each other, plus another ancient being who is the embodiment of a whole line of powerful women, plus the powers given to them by the current most powerful women, they still cannot overcome a witch. The whole book was a more boring, repetitious version of the first book, which in itself was okay. The author has an interesting concept just not the writing talent to bring it to fruition. This book was so irritating to read. The “romance” is laughable and dry. The characters seem to have no interest in one another until suddenly one makes a declaration that comes from nowhere then it returns back to whever it was. The author does a poor job of describing their growing feelings in that he doesn’t even try. They could be brother and sister as far as we know until suddenly “he is her world and she can’t ever lose him”. The only thing that would make this book make sense is if a fith grader wrote it. I never write reviews but this was such a horrifically, irritating waste of my time that I had to warn you. I wish someone would have warned me. I want my money back.
