I enjoyed this story of time travel with a modern woman and a rough-edged Scot from the past. A love of an historical mystery pulls Kenzie toward Ben through the ages. She walks a fine line between changing history and having the love of her life. There are moments that had tears in my eyes and a few head shakes. It is a fun read. I received a copy of this story through Netgalley, and this is my unsolicited review.

4.5 Stars Kenzie Jacobs is fascinated by a portrait of the roguish Highlander, Black Ben, which hangs in her ancestral home. There’s a mystery surrounding him, and Kenzie longs to solve it by travelling through time to 17th century Scotland and hopefully meet the gorgeous laird who haunts her dreams. Black Ben, Laird of Ross, suited his dark name more than ever since his wife Aline died in childbirth & he has vowed never to marry again. Kenzie is an intoxicating elixir and even more potent than whisky. Fate has brought them together, and Ben can’t stop Kenzie from returning to her time, though he would do anything except marry her to keep her with him & Kenzie has a life to get back I was caught up in the story from the start & wanted to find out the mystery surrounding Ben. The characters are very well fleshed, Ben has sunk to an all time low when Kenzie meets him & even seeing him in such a state she’s attracted to him. Ben is also attracted to Kenzie who is so different from all the other women he’s ever met. The pace of the story is very good & I simply wanted to keep reading until I’d finished it. This is the second book in the series but the characters from the first whilst mentioned have no impact on this story. I’m not a lover of time travelling books but I’ve loved both books. My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read

Tamara Gill does it again with her second book in her Time Travel Series. Kenzie Jacobs, our heroine, of present day, lives in her ancestral home with a picture of Highlander, Black Ben on the wall. She has always been intrigued by Black Ben and longs to travel back to Scotland in the 1700's. When her dreams come true and she does land back in his time, Ben is living up to his name after the death of his wife and child. Can you image someone from the future landing in your time years before she was born? Haven't we all kind of dreamed of that? Okay I have and I do not think I am unique. But to try to understand each other would seem a little confusing. But as Ben and Kenzie spend time together, an attraction grows but Kenzie feels she needs to get back to her world and time. Can Ben keep her from going back to the 21st century? A wonderful read that will hold your heart as these two strong forces try to make it work. This is part of a series and although I have read the first book and loved it, this can be read as a stand alone. Be prepared to get lost in a story that have you turning the pages!!
