About this ebook

My plan was perfect… My friend needed a date. And my brother’s best friend was single. Problem solved.

Until I saw Jaeger for the first time in years, and sparks flew in the wrong direction.

Jaeger has grown up and bulked up. But that shouldn’t matter, because I have the perfect life. Really.

Only my plans are beginning to unravel and now visions of Jaeger's hard abs, broad shoulders, and intense green eyes fill my head.

I should hold back in case my friend is interested. Or in case of a million other reasons. But if Jaeger isn’t willing to play by the rules, I don’t think I can either.

Told entirely from Cali's first-person POV, this story tells of her romance with Jaeger, her brother's friend who she meets up with again the summer after college while she's contemplating attending grad school. This was an unusual read, in that we got a lot more of Cali's life story than just her romance. The book starts off while she's in another relationship, which is a first for me, but it really helped to establish her mindset and how she's approaching the current crossroad in her life. Her relationship with Jaeger is far from easy, as both her life's complications and his past connections throw hurdle after hurdle in their way. The overall tone was more real-life problems and less love-conquers-all that I usually find in romance books. That aspect made this book a refreshing change of pace, and left me with characters that I won't soon forget. This story also lets us get to know her brother, Tyler, and her best friend, Gen; both of whom are featured in future books in this series. Thankfully, the entire series is out so I'm off to read the next.

After reading this one, I'm ready to read the next one. This book was really good, although when ex-gf left so quickly after squatting in Jaegar's house it seemed too rushed, but still an excellent book.

It hooked me! I didn't want to stop reading but I had to sleep. I thought the pace was good. The main character was relatable. I am just not very happy with the ending because the events just seem to have gone on quickly like everything was glossed over. Nevertheless, this was a great read. I recommend it to you!
