After raising her five children, Jan began writing full-time in 2012 when her nest whittled down to her husband, one son, and two dogs, who create a drama all their own (one is diabetic and the other has more claws than teeth).
Jan has a degree in Forestry and studied Plant Pathology in graduate school. Much to the chagrin of her editor and proofreaders, grammar has never been her forte.
She wrote her first book when her children were all at home. It took her four years, and when she finished, it was so awful, she burned it. Since then she has been working to perfect her craft. Inspiration for her stories have come from a name, life experiences, and often she dreams an entire storyline.
She's an avid and eclectic reader, passable cook, terrible housekeeper, and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loves spending time with her family-especially her grandchildren, who have her wrapped around their fingers.
Her idea of a perfect day is tromping through the woods of Indiana with her husband and their English Shepherd, Tucker (aka the Diabetic Dog).
