Overview

This book brings light into the fog of the mind and heart, makes sense of the obscurity in our present turmoil and in history, and reveals Truth that will give you hope and a deeper faith. 'Seeing, they do not see,' is a warning for all of us. Are we being tested and guided by hands beyond our world for our good? Why now and why so much turmoil? Do the answers lie in the mysteries of the 'Prophetic Generation' and 'Wheels of Time,' or in a mysterious Fig Tree and 'Wilderness Experience?' Or do they point to a profound Sign, a "Crossroad," that we need to grasp before it is too late?

About the Author

As the son of a U.S. diplomat, Dr. Peter Hofmann grew up in many Third World countries. He holds a BA degree in Biology from Trinity University and a Doctorate from UT San Antonio Health Science Center. He is a student of Astronomy, Geology, Biology, the Bible, and Eschatology. On a weekly basis he teaches and ministers at a mission that he and his friend established called, 'Answers on the Rock'. Sharing the Gospel and spreading Truth has been his source of inspiration for this book. For instance, when sharing the lesson of the Fig Tree to a new believer, the author found himself saying something from his heart that he had not yet realized in his own mind. Truth often comes as we struggle to discover answers to bigger and deeper questions giving God the Glory! Dr. Hofmann has journeyed to the four corners of the earth on missions and as a student to Antarctica. He enjoys talking about the miracles he has shared with indigenous Indian friends, noting that God reaches us when we get away from our safe zone. He has won acclaim for his oil painting and his multi-media experimental art. 'Being a scientist and an artist is so fascinating and wonderful. Our imagination is a gift from God that allows us to see beyond the confines of the dogma of others.'

CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

Some have suggested that the Bible discourages the pursuit, discernment, and declaration of the "Signs of the Time". This is far from the truth! The fact is just the opposite is true. The Lord scolded the Pharisees for not knowing the signs of the age: "When it is evening you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red'; and in the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times" (Matt. 16:2-3). The fact is the Magi or gentile kings who observed the Star of Bethlehem are commended as being the first to comprehend that a "King was born." Could the King be preparing for a prophetic return visit?

I will discuss Signs in at least 4 "Layers or Arms of the Crossroad." These indicate that we are entering the prophetic Countdown that Jesus warned about: "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the Coming of the Son of Man be." These layers act as puzzle pieces and involve: 1) Revealing the lesson of the Fig Tree prophecy; 2) The Signs in the Stars & Constellations; 3) The Convergence of Biblical Generations and Wheels of Time 4) Testimonies from the Prophets, Rabbis, the Holy city, Temple, & historical events like the Cross in the Wilderness.

We will see that the Fig Tree is the divine key to unlock Prophetic Truth spoken by Jesus himself in all 3 Synoptic or Chronological Gospels. The Fig Tree is the first piece of the puzzle missed by many Biblical scholars. Just as the scribes missed the historic entrance of God's Son 2000 years ago, most people are unaware of the many divine signs in our path, and thus, should read this book. The birth that changed the "Wheel of Time" and transformed Empires, shook the very foundation of civilization. Upon this stands Prophetic Generations and Promises that point to a climatic event with similar consequences. The evidence is illuminated by Signs in the Stars, the Jubilees, and the Testimonies from people, places and events. When these puzzle pieces fall into place we will see a divine pattern that will help us solve the "Puzzle of the Ages".

Who is the 13th century Rabbi and what is the significance of 6000 years of converging Planets & Stars? When the Feast of Trumpets arrives, all will be in place for the "Woman of Revelation 12" to reveal her message. September 23rd marks the time when the New Moon is in position and all the signs of Revelation 12 are set in place. What is next? Will our economy suffer prior to or during the convergence of these Wheels of Time? Will this begin a period of personal and national testing followed by a time of New Beginnings? Or will this coincide with a natural disaster, a national conspiracy, Mideast war, or some other calamity? This book will explore a paradigm where God uses numbers and dates related to Jubilee years, Prophecy, & Biblical Generations to warn us.

We will explore the testimony of three Rabbi's and the signpost of current events. But before this we will show how some amazing "Number" Sequences appear throughout time and nature. These are not coincidences. All of this will motivate us to be alert and of sound mind so that we can pray, see the signs along the way, and look to God for answers and direction. I want to make it very clear that this suspenseful book is for everyone and not just those who like prophecy or love to pick up a Bible. Do you ever use a map to find a destination? Believe it or not the Bible is going to be your best road map to the Answers that you will need for yourself and those you love. Be prepared to open the Word and study it along with this book and you will be amazed how God blesses you.

The Book of Revelation says, "Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy; and blessed are those who hear, and who understand for the time is near." Prophecy is not hard to understand. Jesus Christ revealed himself to John, the other disciples, and each of the Prophets so that His message would be accurately passed from one generation to the next with His mark of Truth, Grace, Justice, and Love. He expressly desires to reveal Himself to us before He returns. Since I have not had much time to get this book out to you, I am totally dependent on the Holy Spirit to open doors, hearts, and minds quickly! My prayer is that you are prepared for what may unfold. I was near the l completion of my book when a blue line popped up which said 666 with strange notations- weeks earlier I decided to cut-and-paste a "sheiks" name onto my document. I pray I can get this book out for you on time!

Most have seen Michelangelo's famous Sistine Chapel rendition of God's finger touching man. The iconic image has impacted our perception of God. In much the same way, I will take poetic license to illustrate how God is intimately involved in our history and in our lives. Just as the "finger-touching" is not Biblical, my "Wheels of Time" are not entirely Biblical. God does "touch" our hearts and everything about us. Likewise, He is the Supreme Timekeeper, who watches over us and prepares events and interventions to help us, as He fulfills prophecy and promises. He is the "Beginning and the End", and He is the "Same Yesterday, Today and Forever". He does not vacillate, nor change His Truth. He has a Plan for us and for this world which is measured in earth time and His Time both of which are hidden. Events will happen according to His prescribed plan. He is with us and is closer than we think. Therefore, He will purpose specific events in history to fulfill those promises and prophecy.

As you read this book you will see that I am both an artist and a scientist. You will understand how both work well in explaining and comprehending God's Word. An Artist must visualize his subject, and therefore, must understand it in 3 dimensions in order to "paint" it: the textual meaning, the visual meaning, and the emotional or spiritual impact. The scientist however, is trained to observe and comprehend the facts or meanings from various perspectives or conditions, and to objectively reproduce the same result or truth. Since I am also a dedicated Bible student, having taken two eleven-year Bible studies and Bible Study Methods, at Dallas Theological Seminary under Howard Hendricks, I enjoy the challenge of hermeneutics and exegesis. I want to impart the power of God's message in the full light of Truth so it impacts both the heart and the mind. Also, being true to the Spirit brings deeper joy and hope. In my 40 years of practice, I have seen many conditions or treatments that are unique and need special care. The Truth may not be obvious and is often revealed in layers and with much study and prayer. Jesus said, "I AM the Truth, and the Truth will set you Free." I pray that what is written here will challenge your idea of who God is; the Truth that will set you free.

Reference. Fig.1 Illustrates the 4 "Arms" of the Cosmic Crossroad Outline that we will explore to unlock Prophetic Truth and solve the "Puzzle of the Ages". We will first unravel the lesson of the Fig Tree which will point us to a 70-year prophetic period on the "Cosmic Cross-Road Chart," and the Prophetic Jubilee Time-line. Fig. 5. The Cosmic Crossroad chart links the Generational periods and years to the entire time-line of life. This time-line is eternal and thus supernatural - and in turn goes through the center of each time-wheel discussed later in Fig. 6. God has predetermined these dates and events. The Sign in the sun, moon, and stars and the Testimonies are wheels in time which intersect with the historical time line shown on figure 3. Likewise, the Jewish Feast days and the Jubilee periods will help explain God's foot prints in history as they also intersect in very noteworthy ways.

The converging Time wheel in fig. 3 will show connections to the blood moons and Feast days. This wheel of time goes clockwise like a watch to show time running out! It is not a "Time Wheel" but illustrates time as a wheel. Time Wheels are set by God as Cross roads in our lives and in the history of this earth. I believe that God has directly inspired the great men & women of history and He guides history to fulfill both his Prophecy and Promises. Through his Word, He invites us to explore with Him the depth of his wisdom and knowledge. He encourages us by declaring, "All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are found in Christ Jesus." Through His Word and Creation we can know Him. As we experience His Life and presence we develop an intimacy with Him and a Love for Him. With His Love, we grow in faith, depending on Him for answers and direction. This trust allows me to walk through the "fire" of trials with him. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding and He will make your path straight." He invites us to explore with Him the depth and width of his wisdom so that our path will be right on target! Just do not lean on what the world has taught you and what you think is true and the only answer. He alone is the Author of faith and Truth. Amen.

Many may ask what was my motivation in writing a book that "shakes" people up. I have spent up to 48 hours at a time with just a nap to edit and get this information out. The experience of writing has been a joy and a real learning experience, as God shows me how to use His light to shine in the darkness. I want people to know the urgency, and that we have a choice: to be afraid of the future, or to apply foresight and knowledge in to order to change course and make wise priorities. My choice was very simple. God wants me to pass on the information and insight that He helped me understand as I shared the Gospel, practiced Apologetics, and ministered to people at our weekly mission in Dallas. Our "mission outpost" is off the bike path at White Rock Lake near Chapel Hill. Come join us.

Our mission is called "Answers on the Rock," and as we pray and teach, we give away free lemonade, and free inspirational books for adults & children. Conversations about salvation, hope, truth, forgiveness, and other matters of the heart have become a big catalyst for inspiring ideas and thoughts that only God could have given us. Recently God inspired me to encourage a new believer who had questions on prophecy and its value to us today. As I shared from my heart the parable of the fig tree I was struck by its import in a much deeper way than I had viewed it before. Yes, while I was speaking God was teaching my heart a knowledge that I had not yet grasped in my mind! This inspiration along with my studies on the Biblical generations, the Book of Daniel, and Prophecy, current events and history, and the Sign of Woman of Revelation 12, drove me to write this book with great effort and deliverance.

CHAPTER 2

THE MYSTERY OF THE FIG TREE PROPHECY

Picture Jesus Christ and his disciples as they journeyed down the dusty road back to Jerusalem. Jesus was hungry and he knew that the leaders of Israel would soon reject him, when he saw a fig tree on the wayside that had leaves, but no fruit he said, "May no fruit ever come from you again!" Matthew then states, "And the fig tree withered at once." When the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither at once?" And Jesus answered them, "Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith." Mat: 21:19-22. Just the day before, Jesus had cleansed the temple and driven out the money changers. Did the disciples connect this surprise cursing to those recent events? They had experienced oppression under a mix of both Roman and strict Herodian rule, especially Matthew the tax collector! They knew about the Temple tax and the history of the failures of their own kings and nation! Did they think Jesus was just giving them a quick lesson on faith and the possibility of being able to throw a "mountain" into the sea? "Yes," it seems clear, Jesus was stating how important faith is, and "Yes," he was also emphasizing how Faithful God is! However, beneath the obvious there was a subtle message for the near future concerning the religious leaders and the nation of Israel.

Let us first note that the "curse of the fig tree" was not the first and only time that Jesus cursed something. Jesus who said, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him," did curse the cities of Chorazin, Bethsaida, and Capernaum for their unbelief. Earlier in the history of Israel, God laid down blessings and curses on the nation of Israel. He said, "When all these come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you. Obey his voice in all that I command you today with all your heart and with all your soul, then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes and have mercy on you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you." Deut. 11:19-22.

God promises a blessing to those who obey him? He promised to "restore" the fortunes of the Israelites and gather them from every nation in the world! He made the same promise to Jacob that he had made to Abraham, "I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north & to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring," Gen. 28:13-14. I believe a partial fulfillment of these blessings was in 1947-48, when God restored Israel (the mountain of Zion), & drew His people out from all the nations of the world (the sea)? And God is not yet finished with Israel.

Many believe that the blessing is still real today as the nation of Israel draws more and more Jews to a prosperous and fruitful land. We shall soon see how this "budding" of Israel relates to the lesson of the Fig tree. We must first address the elephant in parenthesis. When Jesus spoke of the "mountain" and the "sea", was he allegorizing a soon to happen event? I believe that Jesus was making an indirect forecast of what was about to happen to the "mountain" known as "Zion", and the nation of Israel. Not long after His crucifixion, in the years 67-135 AD, from the Nero persecution to the Hadrian dispersion of 135 AD, the Jewish nation as it existed was thrown off Mount Zion and cast into the sea of the world's population. The Jews were soon dispersed throughout the Empire and beyond.

All the disciples would die as martyrs prior to the destruction of Jerusalem except for John the Apostle. It would seem to me that Jesus was showing some compassion and encouragement towards John as He knew John would eventually be the lone survivor of the group. Looking back John would remember this moment and would understand what Jesus meant about the "mountain" and the "sea". On the Island of Patmos where he wrote the Book of Revelation, John would be a distant witness to the destruction of the "Mountain of Zion" and the Holy city of Jerusalem in 70 AD. John in fact would use the same word, "sea" to denote the vast population of the earth as he wrote the prophetic book.. And he would also use the word "mountain" to represent the "ruling power". He would understand that the mountain that was cast into the sea were his people, the Jewish nation, which would be dispersed among the gentile nations of the world. As we continue, I will also explore a deeper message linking the "curse of the fig tree" and its lesson on "faith" to another lesson shared by Jesus later at the Mount of Olives. When studied together we will unlock a Mystery related to prophecy in our time and age.

Let's now do a quick study of some general applications in the Bible concerning the fig and the fig tree. Most people remember Adam and Eve used a fig leaf to cover up their nakedness. It is interesting that fig trees have both male and female fruit with the female fruit having an "ovary" and the male a "stamina." The Fig flower involutes forming the fig fruit. God created the fig wasp to climb through a hole and pollinate the fruit in order for them to ripen. The fig tree itself with its large leaves has a canopy effect that acts as a great shade tree. Hence figs and fig trees played a big part in life of people in that day. It is no surprise that God uses both as symbols and signs.
