It is a different apocalypse / zombie story than the ones that I have read, definitely not the traditional zombies walking around but you get a similar, possibly more realistic situation, with the 'crazies'. As mentioned in the description, this story does involve abilities developing, therefore you have to come into the story with an open mind and not question it's reality too much. Just let yourself be swept up by the story and accompany the two best friends as they try to survive through this new world. I saw a few reviews that questioned the characters and reactions of Dani and Zoe: sure they might seem immature for their age, but I don't see this as unrealistic, given some 20-yr-olds I know today. Definitely some really stupid moments by each so as to unravel a particular plot line. On the other hand, I also find it refreshing to read a book with characters that are different to myself and who I don't necessarily relate to [I am hoping I wouldn't be that stupid haha]. There were some plot-theory-holes but I chose to ignore these aspects as regardless of this, it was still a fun read. There is enough action that goes on throughout the book, keeping those pages turning. Plus, there are various romances going on that evolve during the story. I don't necessarily need to have steamy episodes in the books I read, but I know there are some people that need that, so that gets ticked off [It was generally light though, not very heavy. Before I knew it, I had already finished the first book and was already 2 chapters into the second. There is a cliffhanger at the end of Book 1, but that is the benefit of buying/downloading all the books at once or having the boxset!

i really love this book and can't wait to start the next. but something I just don't like are the fact that Dani got snatch where were her animal friends they could have warned her . other than that awesome storyline
