Case: 0: A Sci-Fi Mystery

Case: 0 by May Freighter is the first book in the Annalise Storm Chronicles. This book is set in a futuristic world where people are segregated by different types. The main character is a pureblood named Annalise Storm who is just beginning her career as a police detective. This book is unique and unusual with an entire world built on the separation of people who are different. I enjoyed this story but how the segregation of people was organized in this book somewhat confused me with lots of different terms that were never quite defined. However, the plot was good with lots of build up of mystery and suspense which is what I did enjoy. Case: 0 is an interesting tale focused on total corruption in an egalitarian world.

Good start to a new series. I liked it and I look forward to reading more from this series and author. I recommend this story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I’m a big fan of May Freighter’s books and this is another one of her amazing books. Slaves are perfect but humans are flawed and Annalise is beautiful and human. She goes to a bar one night and is abused by the patrons because they think that she is a slave and she doesn’t belong there, they attack her but she puts up one hell of a fight. Annalise works for the Human Possesion Department ( HPD ) where her chief gives Annalise her first case. There’s action, adventure, twists and turns and danger, fantastic read and a very well written storyline and great characters. I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.
