I wanted to read this one because when I see cardinals I believe it's my grandparents paying me a visit. This book had a little more meaning to it for me. Though Lanie lost her mom I knew the emotions she is going through because I was extremely close to my grandparents. I helped go through some of my grandparents' house this year and I know the toll emotionally it takes out of you. It's a closing of a chapter in life. So as I read about Lanie seeing the cute little red bird through out the book
