Absolutely in love, omg I was living for Ford and Brielle. This second chance romance was sweet and fast paced and overall just adorable. Ford is adorable and cheeky and I love him. His determination to make things work and fight for what he wants with Brielle is admirable and funny at times. Hearing more about their past made me bit sad at times and hearing what they went through hurt. However, seeing them now and how much they have grown. I loved the narrators and this entire series.

4 stars for story / 4.5 stars for performance

This is such a sweet second chance romance. Ford and Brielle had an accidental pregnancy when they were barely 18 and due to pressure from their parents, they went their separate ways. Although they weren't together, they did have a healthy co-parenting relationship but never quite reconnected themselves. This story takes place 10 years later when Ford's hockey career is over and Brielle is just getting ready to start her career in law. While I love the premise and the characters, there was not much in the way of drama. While things did feel a little easy, it was still a nice read and I appreciated the small bit of family tension to amp the drama a bit.

The narration was great. I was very impressed by P.J. Ochlan's range and the unique voices he brought to the various characters he played. Every emotion was on point and his "Connor" was amazing. Lu Banks also has such a sweet lilt to her voice and was pleasant to listen to.

Ford finally decides to take matters into his own hands and do something about it but they are bothered how their son will feel. Connor is a smart kid and gives his dad a hard time which is comical at times. There are funny moments and sad moments but I enjoyed this book and read in one day.

This is book three of this series. Then book is about Ford and Brielle. I was waiting for their story and it was Worth the Wait!

Ford and Brielle have a 10 year old son. They made a pact to not be together and focus on their baby at the insistence of their parents. Ford went off to have a successful hockey career and Brielle just finished law school. They have achieved their goals but at the expense of their family. Ford decided that he’s had enough of not being with the woman he loves. He convinces Brielle to spend some time with him. This time together reveals that they love each other and always have. They have been miserable for the ten years they’ve been separated.

Ford and Brielle had to stand up to their parents who they resent for keeping them apart. Brielle’s dad was a real piece of work. I was happy when Ford and Brielle got him straight.

This book was about teenage pregnancy and how it can change the course of your life. Ford had to forgive himself for the guilt he felt because Brielle made all of the sacrifices for their choices. Brielle had to learn to let go of the past and other people’s expectations for her. Great story!!

The blurb on this book made me think the two main characters were divorced and I thought the notion of the MMC lying to get his former wife alone for a week was creepy. In actuality, the situation was a bit different. I liked the main characters and liked the references back to Hudson and Piper (my favorite of the three books). I do however wish there had been a couple of chapters on the two MC’s lives during the 10 years they were apart…just to help me appreciate their thoughts and struggles during that time.

Ford and Brielle a steamy second chance romance. A great closed proximity of two people who have placed everything on hold to be better co-parents. The back history these two share was heart breaking. I couldn’t even deal with the sad history these two share and how communication could have played a major role in their past, present and future. Ford is definitely top notch book boyfriend material and he is so damn sweet and caring and what a huge heart. He is such a cinnamon role 🫠. This is another great book by Evey. I have officially gone down the rabbit hole and i’m not complaining.

Ford is a retired hockey player who seems self-centred at times, while Brielle was a bit of a pushover whose focus on becoming a lawyer overshadowed almost everything else in her life. The author attempts to make them sympathetic characters, but the plot would have been more interesting if Brielle had needed more convincing to give their relationship a second chance. It's all a matter of perspective, but with so many other titles to be had, this one was really not worth the read.
