This book is an impressive start to what is hopefully going to be a great series! Lots of action, characters are full of depth, and the protagonists and antagonists are well defined but with just enough mystery to leave us guessing which side they're really on. A lot of Texas history interwoven in the story makes it that much more interesting. Very enjoyable read that left me anxious for the next book!

Can’t wait for more in this series and from this author. Great read, fast paced, twists and turns. More about people and relationships than law enforcement procedures. For a first novel it is excellent.

I won't recommend this book. The story was not believable. A person from a military background won't make the kind of mistakes that are in the book. And she cleaned her lipstick from his lips??? When did she had the time to apply any after having duck tape over her mouth and running from captors. Her purse was even still at Victor's property. Way too many inconsistencies. Not a favorite for sure.
