About this ebook

Hart of Dixie Meets Hallmark Channel

Just a city girl, living in a lonely world

Displaced Steel Magnolia Norah Burke has always been an overachiever. The word "failure" was never a part of her vocabulary. So it comes as quite a shock when she gets canned from the marketing firm where she's built her career after threatening to blow the whistle on some shady business practices. Licking her wounds, she heads to her best friend in Mississippi for a little home-grown Southern comfort.

Just a small town boy

With his iron-clad Mississippi roots, Councilman Cam Crawford is a man who values tradition, preservation, and the love of a good woman. When a big box warehouse store tries to capitalize on his hometown's economic downturn, he's not about to let anyone's ambition destroy what he holds dear. He'll raise hell if he has to in order to stop them.

Don't stop believin'

This unlikely pair just might be the perfect allies--in war and out. But as the battle to stop GrandGoods heats up and sparks of attraction turn to something more, will this city girl's bigger-picture perspective go with this small-town boy's "keep it as it is" attitude? And even if they can send the suits packing and get the town on its feet again, can she really give up her corner office and power lunches for the corner booth at the local diner? What's a nice executive like her going to do in a place like this?

Once I got into this book it was so very hard to put down. It is a wonderful story of small town life and the challenges of living in one. Norah discovers that the company that she has worked her tail off for for years has been using unethical practices resulting in damaging the livelihood of some small towns. She is fired from her job after accusing her employers and telling them that she cannot condone their way of doing business. Norah is now adrift in uncharted territory and so she heads to the one place that feels like home and to her best friend. Shortly after arriving in Wishful, Norah is drawn into the her best friend's cousin's fight with a big, box store that wants to build on some sort of special land. Norah can tell that this company is going to do to Wishful what another company did to another small town that she loved. Norah decides to help Cam and the town of Wishful and perhaps she can atone for her part in the other town's demise. Cam is the only one that can see Norah for Norah. For the most part, he gets how she thinks and how she solves problems and how she gives 150% of herself to the cause she is working on, but soon after Cam and Norah become an item, obstacles start popping up and they are going to have to figure out if what they have is worth fighting for and if they can save both their relationship and the town.

Ms. Nolan's Wishful town is soooo lovable. i love the people so much like i knew them in real life lol. I've read several stories from this town (the series and the spin off) and i would say Ms Nolan is one great story teller. one of the best author in this genre. I'm a fan.

I was blown away from the beginning. Well paced with all the emotion, humour, Aha! Oh yes! moments, strategy insights I could ask for with a dash of sexy.
