Shannon Ames, a rookie FBI agent, hits the ground running. Shannon is very instrumental in capturing the bad guys in each of the books. One book she even goes undercover as a prostitute, which takes her out of her probationary agent status. Will be good to see this series go forward.

Shannon Ames looks like the girl next door - about 5'5" tall, unremarkable, except for a resemblance to actress Emma Watson. She is, however, a probationary Special Agent of the FBI - based in Brooklyn Queens agency of the New York City division.

The joy of reading a boxed set is the ability to watch a character's evolution and development. The experience is like binge-watching Season One of the FBI on CBS. The action starts with Shannon being tossed into the thick of a case involving missing and murdered news people. Each book in the set allows us to watch Shannon analyze clues, formulate plans, and assume command - often on the fly. We get to see her handle suspenseful, frequently life-or-death situations.

I really enjoyed this series and look forward to Book 6.

Strong Female Lead Character

This box set delivers 5 full length novels and is a perfect way to get started on this excellent mystery/suspense thriller.

This was a first time read for me with author and I was really impressed. The character of Shannon Ames, a newly graduated FBI agent in New York City, is one of intellect, compassion and emotional strength. I loved how the focus is on her ability to think outside the box and be openminded about possible answers to who is killing and why. While she is described as attractive, it is not the focus within the stories.

The writing is impeccable and the growth that we see Ames get over the 5 books solid. The plot lines are intriguing, and the author is skilled in leaving a trail of breadcrumbs towards red herrings and misdirection.

This is a series that no lover of mystery/thrillers will regret reading. There are more books available featuring Shannon Ames. I can't wait to get them all!

This is a strong recommend from me!.
