Prince Verom Lux, the second-born son of the king, finds himself trapped in a life not his own. His royal lineage grants him little power, and critical decisions, including the choice of a spouse, are made for him. Forever overshadowed by his elder brother, Verom yearns to step into the light and distinguish himself.

Driven by an unquenchable desire to regain control of his destiny, he embarks on a daring journey that will change the course of his life. Disguising his identity under the new name Erebus, he ventures into a realm where he is but a stranger, a place where mythical beings exist, long dismissed as mere legends.

For the first time in his life, he must navigate the complexities of genuine friendship without the privilege of his princely title. Armed with his swordsmanship skills, he faces a world filled with uncertainties, where trust is elusive, and betrayal lurks in the shadows.

Lux's Second Son is an enthralling tale of empowerment, courage, and the pursuit of one's true self. Join this prince on an epic adventure as he risks it all to reclaim control of his destiny in a world teeming with secrets and surprises. Will he emerge victorious, forging his own path and finding his place among both friends and foes? Dive into this captivating story of a prince who, by facing his fears and embracing the unknown, discovers the strength and resilience within himself to shape his own destiny.

This book was very engaging. I read the whole thing in one sitting. As Prince Verom leaves his homeland to make his own way and win a life for him and his love he encounters many challenges and interesting people. There are evil creatures to be defeated, friends to make and a king to serve. There are sword battles and magic to save the kingdom. It is a thoroughly enjoyable tale for readers young adult and older. It drew me in and has me hooked, waiting for the next book to resolve the cliffhanger at the end.

"Imperius: Lux's Second Son" by Marshall Wright is a thrilling medieval fantasy that keeps you hooked from start to finish. The story follows Verom, a captivating character caught up in a world of magic, power struggles, and destiny.

Wright's writing creates a vivid medieval setting, with castles, forests, and mystical elements that make the story come alive. Verom's journey is filled with twists and turns, and you'll find yourself rooting for him as he navigates through political intrigue and ancient prophecies.

The plot is fast paced, with a good mix of action and moments of reflection. Magic is seamlessly woven into the narrative, adding an extra layer of excitement. The characters, especially Verom, are well-developed and relatable, making it easy to get invested in their stories.

Wright explores mature themes, giving the story depth and making it more than just a fantasy adventure. Themes of power, sacrifice, and choice add complexity to the characters and the overall narrative.

If you're a fan of medieval fantasy with a mix of magic and compelling characters, "Imperius: Lux's Second Son" is a must-read. Wright's storytelling will keep you entertained and leave you eager for more. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series and learning more about the characters and world that Wright has created.

"Imperius: Lux's Second Son" by Marshall Wright is a medieval fantasy about the many adventures of Prince Verom in a foreign land. His in-depth character introductions and vivid scene descriptions put you right into the story as it unfolds. This book is not only for the young male audience, but any who would enjoy sword action, magic and mystery as it doesn’t cross the line of vulgarity.
The book ends as a cliff hanger should, leaving you wanting to read the sequel to find out the continued adventures and quest to find answers.

Charming and good looking but slightly arrogant, entitled, and ignorant of the world around him, Prince Verom looks to run away from responsibility and create his own destiny. I enjoyed following Verom’s adventures as he makes unlikely friends, gets life lessons knocked into him, and discovers that magic is not just in fairytales.

There’s never a dull moment and I find myself only wishing it were longer!

Would recommend to anyone looking for an exciting, fast paced fantasy story!
