An enjoyable book. Not much paranormal or even romance, but a solid mystery angle. The writing could have been better polished in a few places.

This is the first book in a new amazing series. Like all of Christine Pope’s series, the first book is difficult to put down until the very last page. As noted in the introduction to the book, Skye O’Malley and Max Sullivan were neighbours and best friends as kids. When a movie was to be shot in Las Vegas, Mexico, it seems that Skye’s high school “crush” was still very alive! To really spice up the book throw in a murder, an almost witch who reads tea leaves and has “sight” dreams.

This is the first book in a new series and I really enjoyed it. Skye O’Malley and Max Sullivan were neighbors as kids so of course there was a crush involved. Max went off to become a big-time movie star and Skye runs a coffee shop in Las Vegas, New Mexico, their hometown. Throw in a murder, a not-quite witch with the “Sight” and ability to read tea leaves and Christine Pope has started off her new series with a winner.
