Skulduggery Pleasant has always been one of my all-time favorite series. It has mystery, magic, comedy, romance, thrills, and it's all balanced perfectly in every book. The books are never overwhelming in drama and it's one of the many reasons why I can read the series over and over without getting bored.

About the author

Derek Landy lives near Dublin. Before writing his children's story about a sharply-dressed skeleton detective, he wrote the screenplays for a zombie movie and a murderous horror film. "I think my career-guidance teacher is spinning in her grave," he says, "or she would be if she were dead."
