When I was a child I wanted two things. To Write a Novel and to be Wonder Woman and save the world.

Somewhere past 40, I realized the tights were never going to fit, and the only flying I was ever going to do was in a plane.

So instead, I write my Strong and Sassy Heroes/Heroines into the novels I pen…

I build doorways into contemporary worlds filled with magic, that allow all of us to be a hero to our own imaginations.

To me, every character is real. I walk alongside them as they discover that fear is the flip side of courage, that survival may just be a badge of honor, and that our flaws are an opportunity to emerge stronger and discover our own personal brand of superpowers—at any age.

I live in the heart of Michigan with my Fastidious Husband and a Feisty Yorkie named Napoleon. When I’m not penning the adventures in my next book, you can find me kayaking, hiking, and camping with my family and friends.

Very entertaining book full of quirky characters, murder and magic. The heroine is a novice soup witch who has a knack for solving murders. Her talents are frequently put to use in her new home town. Recently divorced, she has sworn off men and... then she meets Jack. Romance seems possible. Great fun. Enjoy!

Likable magical characters in stories set in the beautiful, fantastic world of Michigan's upper peninsula, I mean, what more could you want for easy entertainment!?

I cute, easy story. It’s filled with all kinds of good stuff like a good soup should be. It’s magic in the kitchen. So hang on to your toque and enjoy the read!

Another wonderful book in this amazing series by author Elizabeth Rain. I loved reading this awesome book and highly recommend it...

Elizabeth Rain has done it again! Juli is getting pretty good as a soup witch and the restaurant is doing well. She is also getting better at solving murders, this time it's quite complex with tons of suspects and also missing people to boot. She is up to the task though. And if that is not enough she has to make a soup to free the spirit in her cook book. How much can one person handle? It is a great read, not only serious but lots of fun parts too. If you've read book one get this one soon, otherwise get them both and start reading.

Humor and romance, and a couple of murders are the plot of this story. The clever characters, along with a bit of magic, are entertaining and suspenseful. Well done!

I really have enjoyed this series. A light fun read to chase away the winter blues. The characters are different and interesting which makes reading these books a pure delight.

This is the second book in the series and every bit as good as the first. The main characters are becoming more familiar to the reader and the plot easily takes the reader along as the story unfolds. I have no problem recommending this book to any who enjoy the stories, paranormal.

I thoroughly enjoyed this second book in the series. I picked up book 1, Risky Bisqueness, after reading the synopsis. I wasn't sure I would get through it but I really liked it and was eager to try this book as well, and it did not disappoint. A good read with a twisty plot. I am looking forward to reading book 3.

A very good story and intriguing mystery and great characters make the book worth reading in one go.
In need of some editing with wrong information left at the beginning of the book and corrected only in the second half of the story. Some events are discovered, forgotten and rediscovered as brand new a couple of times.
Still highly recommend.
