A supernatural serial killer is on the loose…

Edie

My arch nemesis is dead, but not gone. A supernatural serial killer destroyed her body but her spirit hasn’t crossed over. Which means the only person at college who can see her is me.

Can I just ignore her and get on with my life? Pretty please? Ugh. I wish. Ignoring her isn’t so easy in a small town when she’s haunting my ex-boyfriend…

Niamh

I hear him every night, before he murders. But no one else does. And no matter how annoying I find his eerie whistling, I can’t seem to follow it. How can we stop someone we can’t find? And are my friends and family next on his list?

The Mean Girl’s Murder is the fifth book in the mother-daughter paranormal women’s fiction series, Afterlife Calls. If you’re looking for a story that’s seriously sarcastic, slightly spooky, and with a sprinkling of romance, it’s just the series for you.

After what happened to Dominic in book four, things still haven’t returned to normal for Edie and Niamh. Each of them struggle with their own problems. Edie has mock exams coming up, and she’s struggling to keep up, while Josh, her ex-best friend and ex-boyfriend, continues to give her the cold shoulder. Niamh meanwhile is hearing a mysterious whistle that is giving her pounding headaches and taking away her sleep. But things only get worse when Tessa, Edie’s bully from college, is brutally murdered.

Tessa doesn’t cross over and instead demands that Edie find her killer. But there is something very strange about her murderer, and as the bodies continue to pile up, it appears that a serial killer has struck their town. And why is the whistling that Niamh hears worse when the murders occur? With the help of Ben, Fadil, and other friends, can Niamh and Edie solve these murders and free Tessa’s spirit? Or is there something far more sinister going on?

This was the best book in the series so far! With the characters well-established by this point, the plot really takes center-stage. Between the mystery and the mayhem in this book, along with a healthy splash of drama, this book weaves together so many different elements established in the first four books that it’s breathtaking. With so much more tantalizing possibilities to come, I really want to see where this series is going!

The Afterlife Calls series is just getting better and better, and as it expands, it drags the reader further and further into a rich world of supernatural creatures, astounding mysteries, and both lovable characters and hateable villains, along with a few esoteric, morally grey persons of interest that sprinkle doubt and intrigue into the mix. If you enjoyed the first four books, definitely pick up this one!

Only good things! I can't wait for the next one.

I understand there must be drama in every GOOD book, but I am so glad that light usually wins!

received this book as an ARC and holy cow was it good. I love Kristina’s books but this one has topped the rest in the series. She is great at bringing the story full Corle and this one truly has done that. The characters have grown more in The Mean girl’s Murder and are learning more about what their powers can do. It’s great to see the characters come together and work more as a team.

I received this book as an Arc from the author and I’m writing a review because I want to. It’s a supernatural story about a murderer no one can find. The characters are believable and the plot is good. Couldn’t put it down. Highly recommended!

MUST READ SERIES! This is the fifth book in what is a page turner series that I couldn’t put down! After resolving the rifts that have happened thus far, you would think that the gang would get a breather, but not! Now a serial killer ghost is on the loose in this quaint town that only Niamh can hear before he murders. Edie lost her first love and best friend, Josh to her nemesis, Tessa, after saving him from the demon torture curse he and his mom were under due to a deranged classmate seeking ultimate power. Tessa, who had been bullying her for months with no repercussions, has now become a victim to the serial killer ghost and has latched onto Josh even more. Will the gang be able to stop this serial killer? Will Edie be able to put her differences aside and help Tessa move on? The icing on the cake is that we learn much more about the beloved character Thomas. He has been one of the best characters in this wonderful series. K.C. Adams, thank you for writing such fantastic stories with wonderful characters that bring you into their world. I truly could not put this series down and cannot wait for the next adventures with the gang!
