About this ebook

“This author's gift is creating complex and complicated characters that make her stories all that more vivid and captivating."

They’re polar opposites, with only one thing in common…they survived the helicopter crash…but that’s just the beginning.

Acclaimed chef, Skylar, is perfectly happy with her life. She has her food and her family luxury eco-resort to keep her busy. But when she hears the unmistakable sound of a muffled scream and confronts a sadistic husband hurting his wife, she finds herself on the other end of the man’s violent fists.

Senior Constable Nash can’t believe Skylar put herself in such danger. Nash has admired her from afar for over two years. He even asked her on a date, but she shot him down in flames. Resigned to the fact they will never be together; Nash wants only to protect her from herself.

But on a shared helicopter ride to return home from testifying at the abusive husband’s court case, their aircraft is shot down. Lost in remote far North Queensland, Nash and Skylar have only their wits to help them survive.

Whoever crashed their helicopter is now also hunting them through the tropical jungle, intent on seeing them dead.

Skylar seems to be all that she portrays on the surface, sophisticated, cool and self-reliant. But when Nash digs deeper, he begins to uncover the truth about her past not even her family know. Secrets are often dark, and everyone has them. But Skylar and Nash will need to share their deepest fears if they are to survive.

Deleted after a few chapters. The concept was awesome, but after the helicopter crash and the 2 main characters ran for their lives, when they finally arrived home, Skylar started acting like a petulant child. She was shot, ran for her life, then actually fusses at everyone else for trying to keep her safe. Then she even throws a tantrum for not being able to just run to the store. The main character went from a strong woman that went thru traumatizing events in her life to a child not getting her way. Really sad for the character development. Deleted because it became boring and the character really became frustrating.

I loved returning to Stormcloud Station and getting to learn more about Dale’s sister, Skylar. Skylar is the chef at the resort. She’s been keeping a secret from her family and hopes it remains a secret. One day she hears a woman and she has to make sure she’s okay. Come to find out, Dan Sanders abuses his wife, Patty, and thinks he’s entitled to do so. When Skylar intervenes, trouble will soon follow. Senior Constable Nash King is called to Stormcloud Station to take Dan Sanders into custody. Skylar and Nash have been attracted to each for a while, but she’s not ready for another man. When they’re on their way back from court for the Dan Sander’s case, their helicopter is shot down. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see how they survive and what happens once they are rescued. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is another beautiful, albeit action packed, love story in the Stormcloud Station series. Little did Skylar Williams know when she came across a violent domestic situation in one of the resorts luxury eco cabins that her life would change forever. Skylar was head chef at the family owned Stormcloud Luxury Eco Resort which was situated forty five minutes from the small town of Dimbulah, in North Queensland and was well known for Skylar's delicious food. Unknown to her close family, Skylar had escaped an abusive marriage, she couldn't face up to the atrocities that her husband had subjected her to so she told no one and quietly got on with her life in her kitchen and her garden, letting no one get close to her until that fateful night. Senior Constable Nash King had admired Skylar from the first time he saw her and he went into full protection mode when he was called to Stormcloud to find Skylar had been assaulted by wealthy , bullying husband, Dan Sanders. When the plane that they were in, when returning from Sander's trial, was shot out of the sky and the pilot killed, Skylar and Nash's nightmare began, someone wanted them dead, they were injured, in the middle of the bush with no means of communication and a gunman on their heels. This story follows the journey of Skylar and Nash and their blossoming love. Can Nash gain Skylar's trust ? Can Skylar face her demons and allow Nash past her barriers ? This is a lovely well written story of insecurities and facing them head on when the chips are down proving that with love and trust you can do anything. I am so looking forward to the next book in this series. I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
