Life is a magical journey. Especially when graced with an unexpected healing power...

Never did I imagine the responsibility of such a gift. I'm Jess 'Lonewolf', a young rebel. From street fights to living on the streets, I've seen it all. Living at the halfway house in Philly is no easy ticket. Others want to capitalize on my newfound power. Bad people. Powerful people. Where can I run? I'm already dodging too many of my own demons...passed from foster home to foster home...on probation for petty theft.

Then a mysterious Sensei visits a neighborhood dojo imparting a profound teaching...My life changes. My time for running is over. To face down a most sinister medical underground crime ring. I'm more resourceful than they think. I'm full of more grit than anyone imagined. And light…

I am not a big sci-fi fan...but I am a fan of a good story well written, which in my view elevates it to great. The urban lingo slowed me down at first, but if you continue, the ultimate goal of author TURNER will reveal, and the story will shine for you as it did for me.Gritty fantasy done right by a competent author..Recommended!

This is a phenomenal urban fantasy. This book is extraordinary because it deals with a main characterThat is one of many youth in the juvenile justice system. Jess is living in a halfway house on probation. A child of the streets trying to survive. What happens when you begin to attract attention for power that others don’t have. The characters use realistic street language and behaviors not usually used in urban fantasy. The characters capture the reader immediately and carry you throughout the story. The storyline is excellent and well developed. More, I want another book. I want a series!

I found the story to be an interesting idea and the realism of the street rang true. I did feel the story was slow at first but picked up as it went along. I found myself speed reading at times. The action is fast and also very bloody. If you have a problem with torture or graphic deaths, be warned.

I received this book for free and wished to leave a review.

This well-crafted, dark, disturbing NC17 contemporary Philadelphia paranormal gets off to a VERY slow start, but sees a lot of action before some of the players are played at the end of a very long reading day.

Extraordinarily book! Was slow at first, but picked up by the end. The dialogue and street language were realistic. **Some blood and torture triggers

What an interesting story. Who would have thought of the power of the mind to control others? Wonderful story I love it .
