About this ebook

Jimmy Katz, a young journalist from the Big City, throws in the towel after he's robbed at gunpoint at a gas station. He finds a job at the Twinkle Independent News in Twinkle, Texas, 385 miles from the closest shopping mall.

He settles into country life in the town of 3,000 at Mrs. Potts' boarding house with his Amazon parrot, Guppy, who has an extensive vocabulary.

Three months into his new lifestyle, Jimmy discovers a tiny kitten he names Maddy. Then his life is turned topsy-turvey.

The town matriarch, his long-lost aunt, names him her heir. Someone takes offense. Neither Jimmy, police chief Price, or his aunt Betty know if the threats are coming from the Big City or Twinkle.

Mysterious messages on his laptop lead to a shocking discovery.

Katz' Cat - No magic, just a talented parrot and abandoned kitten working with their human. A fun cast of characters blended with well thought out story lines. This well written story is up the ladder from the typical Cozy mystery although I knew who the killer was with one clue and another clue verified my assumption. I would like to read the next book in the series. The uniqueness of this story kept my interest until the last page. The killer was caught red-handed, no squealing. 4* HOT CHOCOLATE - This story had me rolling on the floor. Well written. Funny. Fabulous characters. Good story lines. The Alcott Family Adventures would make a great sitcom similar to The Whole Nine Yards with hot chocolate instead of weapons. No, they are not hired killers, just a lot of fun, and stuff happens. No drama queens, no stupid people, OK, there was one, just pure entertainment along with a good story. I love the way Bambi was treated by the Alcotts. I love that Hstn was truthfully portrayed. 5*
