SCHOOL TEACHER REVIEW: 5 STARS ★★★★★ "Practically Perfect." Reviewed September 2020
“As a former middle school English teacher who taught reading for more than 30 years, this is practically a perfect book for its target audience. The main characters, a boy/girl twin pair, are well-developed and easy to relate to and root for. And their adventures are perfectly-paced, complex, and intriguing. I look forward to more of these time-travelling-twins adventures in the future. A book I highly recommend... and not just to young readers.”

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and fascinating mystery-fantasyBy Wayne A. Lovett on September 26, 2016Format: Kindle Edition | Verified Purchase With time-travelling twins, Native Americans, Celtic princes, Shamans, a shape-shifting raven - this book is an imaginative, fun and fascinating mystery-fantasy. The main characters, 13-year-old twins, are honorable and courageous, and the reader really cares about them and roots for them. My grandson, who is 12, loved it, and asked it there will be another book with Nadia and Aidan.

This gripping and suspenseful novel has great pacing and is written in a fantastic middle grade voice. The characters are well drawn, full of interesting quirks and personalities that bring them to life.

The material is age appropriate, and the story is full of atmosphere. From a dusty attic full of secrets to caves and distant places, it was fun to travel around with the characters. I cared about what happened to them, and there were multiple storylines that I was rooting for to be resolved.

Although there is room for a sequel, things were tied up nicely at the end. This is a story with lots of depth that a middle grade reader would enjoy getting lost in. A good book!

I grabbed this book for my 11-year-old niece. She wanted to read something exciting, and this book didn't disappoint. The story's about these awesome 13-year-old twins on a wild adventure to save their dad and maybe even the world. It's packed with suspense and really lovable characters. She was so into it that she stayed up late to finish more chapters.

This is an amazing book! I love all of the simple details and the true information you can get out of it. From the romance to the dramatic and sad ending. Diane Solomon did an amazing job on this book, and I think she should make this a series where Aidan realizes that there are multiple rabbit-holes that take him to different times. Where he changes history in multiple ways. If Diane Solomon sees this, you rock man.

The main characters, a boy/girl twin pair, are well-developed and easy to relate to and root for. And their adventures are perfectly-paced, complex, and intriguing. The time travelling and the good vs. evil themes remind me of the book The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper. It will remind young readers who cite that as their favorite book of it also. I look forward to more of these time-travelling-twins adventures in the future. A book I highly recommend... and not just to young readers.

This is a fun, family-oriented Middle Grade book about twins who time travel. It's a feel-good story about courage and adventure and redemption. It all stems from a magical Ravenstone which send the kids back to the fifth century where they have adventures that involve Native Americans, Celts, and a magical raven.

I just finished The Ravenstone and absolutely loved it! It had time travel, magic, bears, Indians, good vs evil. Lots of fun! I hope that there is a sequel because I’ll be reading it. Great writing and great book for all ages. I’m 52 and a longtime reader and this book is one of the best for its genre that I have ever read. Great job!

I'm not finished yet, but I love it,It is so interesting I never want to put it down. She paints a clear picture of what life was like during that time period.
I also grew up in that part of the country and some of my relatives on my dad's side of the family are from Gateway and I believe my great Granddad, Lewis Lafayette Hall may have named Unaweep Canyon.(Not a 100% sure). I recognize some of the names of the people Margery mentions in her book.because my Dad has mentioned their names during the years I was growing up, for whatever reason I don't recall.
There is another book I am looking for that she may have written about the history of Gateway called "At One Point In Time, Gateway, Colorado." My brother has a copy and told me that I could buy one on Amazon, but I haven't been able to find one there.
Thank you Margery for writing your book...

A well told, wholly imaginative tale with very likeable characters that go on a unique, time travel adventure. This is the kind of book that encourages imagination in kids and inspires them to want to read more rather than making reading seem like a dull experience to the current generation.

5.0 out of 5 stars A beautifully written story!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on August 6, 2020
Although this book is primarily for the younger reader, I believe that anyone would thoroughly enjoy this beautifully written story of Nadia and Aidan and their time travelling adventure. The characters are skilfully defined and the plot is not only exciting but packed with wonderful descriptions of locations. Any reader, young or older, investing their time in this book will be very much rewarded. I have already bought the second book, 'The Twain' and look forward to reading it very soon!
