Does Chrissy dare hope that a fake relationship could lead to real love?

Wyatt Tabor is feeling the pressure. His wealthy parents won’t support him unless he settles down and commits to the family business, while his ever-patient, loving grandmother longs to see him fall in love and be happy. After a broken engagement, he’s not sure he’s ready to trust someone else with his heart. With Gran’s 90th birthday party coming up, he cooks up a scheme that he hopes will appease his family and give her a drama-free celebration.

Serving up coffee was never Chrissy’s idea of a dream job, but she’ll do whatever it takes to help her sister afford the medication she needs. When a handsome, smooth-talking customer offers to pay her to pose as his girlfriend, she can’t help but say yes. After all, it’s only for one night. What could go wrong?

Wyatt and Chrissy soon realize their feelings for each other are anything but pretend. When family dramas and class differences pull them apart, they must decide whether to walk away, or take a leap of faith and risk everything for love.

Marrying Chrissy is a heartfelt story of unexpected love. I throughly enjoyed it and the 2 previous stories in the Brides of Clearwater.

Melanie Snitker has done a wonderful job writing this book. I think it is one of her best! The two main characters, Chrissy and Wyatt, are so likeable and so believable. They are really well put-together human beings, but they do have their doubts and their flaws. As the story moves along, there are many interesting subplots, and it is often hard to predict what is going to happen next. The other characters in the book are interesting too. Some are very nice, but a few are mean. How Chrissy and Wyatt respond to each other in all their various situations, and how they respond to the other characters in the book, is what makes the story so good. I hope you will enjoy reading Marrying Chrissy as much as I did!

Parents can unfortunately not like a person finds for forever. It can cause quite an issue.

I like how Wyatt stood up and fought for his love.

I love Marrying Chrissy. I love ALL of the Brides of Clearwater! And the stories are even better when you read the series a second time since you now know the OTHER characters and THEIR romances. It’s a bit like a family reunion! And I’d say that Chrissy and Wyatt are one of my favorite couples... But... Honestly ;o) they are ALL my favorite!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and all of the many characters. The chemistry was great. This is a sweet, clean romance.

Loved this story about Wyatt and Chrissy. Love the relationship that Chrissy has with her mom and her sister. Love the relationship Wyatt has with his Gran. Wyatt invites Chrissy to his Gran's birthday just to have a date. After they spend time together, they realize that they have a lot in common. When Wyatt's sister stirs up trouble between them, they have to make a decision to work it out or go their separate ways.

This is a beautiful and uplifting romance with charming characters and surprisingly fun moments that will have you laughing and hopefully believing in true love again.

I started out really liking the characters in this book and wanted to see what happened to them, but I was disappointed in the book.

Things I liked:
Chrissy, even with her strange colored hair and nails, was so caring and worried about her sister. I really liked how she did all she could to help her family when times were hard.
Wyatt was actually sweet even though he came from such a messed up family. I did appreciate how he finally did stand up and do the right thing even when he knew it was unpopular.
I did like Emma. And two of Wyatt’s sisters. And Gran was sweet too.

Things I didn’t like:
This is supposedly a Christian book, and there were a few references to God, a few half-prayers, a mention of going to church, but that’s about it. No praying over the situation, no seeking guidance about what to do. Nope, it was more of a nod to Christianity, but we can handle things on our own sort of book.
Wyatt pays Chrissy to pose as his girlfriend for his grandma’s birthday so Gran will be able to enjoy the day without everyone getting on to Wyatt about needing to get married. While I may not approve of that, it wasn’t bad, and nothing happened between them. However, the charade goes on far too long.
There are kisses that, while not too detailed, are more than I care to read. They’re the kind that “curl your toes” whatever that is supposed to mean. And they “deepen the kiss” which always makes me roll my eyes. And the couple are sure they are meant for each other because they “have chemistry.” HUH??? So, “chemistry” is all that is needed for a good marriage? Hardly! There is no considering the other’s character, or their walk with the Lord. It’s just “chemistry” and an “I-can’t-get-them-our-of-my-mind” sort of thing.

There is some talk about guys playing a game without their shirts on, an ex-girlfriend who comes into the picture and causes trouble, and a time where Chrissy and Wyatt need to communicate and talk about some things, but Chrissy won’t.

Not a favorite, and I probably won’t be rereading this book though I’ve enjoyed other books by this author.
