Purchase options and add-ons
Does Chrissy dare hope that a fake relationship could lead to real love?
Wyatt Tabor is feeling the pressure. His wealthy parents won’t support him unless he settles down and commits to the family business, while his ever-patient, loving grandmother longs to see him fall in love and be happy. After a broken engagement, he’s not sure he’s ready to trust someone else with his heart. With Gran’s 90th birthday party coming up, he cooks up a scheme that he hopes will appease his family and give her a drama-free celebration.
Serving up coffee was never Chrissy’s idea of a dream job, but she’ll do whatever it takes to help her sister afford the medication she needs. When a handsome, smooth-talking customer offers to pay her to pose as his girlfriend, she can’t help but say yes. After all, it’s only for one night. What could go wrong?
Wyatt and Chrissy soon realize their feelings for each other are anything but pretend. When family dramas and class differences pull them apart, they must decide whether to walk away, or take a leap of faith and risk everything for love.

I like how Wyatt stood up and fought for his love.
Things I liked:
Chrissy, even with her strange colored hair and nails, was so caring and worried about her sister. I really liked how she did all she could to help her family when times were hard.
Wyatt was actually sweet even though he came from such a messed up family. I did appreciate how he finally did stand up and do the right thing even when he knew it was unpopular.
I did like Emma. And two of Wyatt’s sisters. And Gran was sweet too.
Things I didn’t like:
This is supposedly a Christian book, and there were a few references to God, a few half-prayers, a mention of going to church, but that’s about it. No praying over the situation, no seeking guidance about what to do. Nope, it was more of a nod to Christianity, but we can handle things on our own sort of book.
Wyatt pays Chrissy to pose as his girlfriend for his grandma’s birthday so Gran will be able to enjoy the day without everyone getting on to Wyatt about needing to get married. While I may not approve of that, it wasn’t bad, and nothing happened between them. However, the charade goes on far too long.
There are kisses that, while not too detailed, are more than I care to read. They’re the kind that “curl your toes” whatever that is supposed to mean. And they “deepen the kiss” which always makes me roll my eyes. And the couple are sure they are meant for each other because they “have chemistry.” HUH??? So, “chemistry” is all that is needed for a good marriage? Hardly! There is no considering the other’s character, or their walk with the Lord. It’s just “chemistry” and an “I-can’t-get-them-our-of-my-mind” sort of thing.
There is some talk about guys playing a game without their shirts on, an ex-girlfriend who comes into the picture and causes trouble, and a time where Chrissy and Wyatt need to communicate and talk about some things, but Chrissy won’t.
Not a favorite, and I probably won’t be rereading this book though I’ve enjoyed other books by this author.
