Mailbox Mayhem Kindle Edition

3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars 14 ratings

Two humorous stories about young Maine police detectives Paul Fournier and All-Eyes Martin. Come to central Maine, where the neighbors are quirky and the crimes are solved quickly. In the first story, “Mailbox Mayhem,” Paul and All-Eyes are hauled off their first murder investigation to look for a mailbox thief and an elderly woman. This story was originally published in Alfred Hitchcock’s Mystery Magazine. In the second tale, “The Disappearance of Chumble,” Mr. Reynolds’s dog is missing, and All-Eyes is sweet on Paul’s sister. Join the detectives for this wacky adventure, as the crook demands $2,600 ransom and the neighbors on Hoffstead Street try to help. Watch Paul and All-Eyes crack the dognapping case—and so much more.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

These stories are set in a fictional neighborhood in my old stomping grounds, and the heroes are just the kind of cops you want to show up on your doorstep when your mom is missing or your dog has been snatched. Paul's family may get his dander up, and All-Eyes may baffle him by making googoo eyes at Paul's sister, but these two are buddies for life and will take on any crime that threatens their town. They're persistent, and though they sometimes seem a bit goofy--I mean, can't Paul leave the driveway without smashing something?--they always get their man.

Two really cute cozy mysteries with likeable characters solving a dog-napping and a mailbox-napping in their quirky neighborhood. They are just too short. Cries out for a series of stories or books built on these characters.

Truly a delightful read about 2 detectives on a Maine police force. Light reading but so much fun to see how they operate and solve crimes in their town. Highly recommend.
