Loved this continuation of the Guardian series! Jax is the doctor of the Guardian Group but still has enough training and situational awareness to recognize that Riley is in trouble. At the same time he has is own struggles, but chooses over and over to protect Riley. I loved their conversations and have taken away several phrases that I will use as a challenge in my life. One being “joy in the potholes” because we’ve all hit those potholes and yet never seem to apply joy at the time. Also, when he’s thinking that the trial’s that life had thrown at him as just one more hit…yep been there, but then he realized that “as much as that felt like the truth, it wasn’t”. Hope you read and enjoy this book.
