Gunny Mac is now a private "I" with his Pacific bunch.

Gunny Mac didn't know what to do. Marine retirement was inevitable. But he wasn't ready to give up. The Marine's wounds healed. Cohorts got better from injuries. Mac returns to the USA and decides to work in a different, but similar field. Now he was going after a different enemy. The solutions to each problem graduated into other challenges. Most of it was ruthlessness from an enemy. But what he left behind in the Pacific, he also found it coming from across the Atlantic in the USA. The plot thickens when there is more than one enemy to find. At first,, there is evidence, but no suspect. At least, the antagonist gets away with murder. This novel and "Gunny Mac, Private Detective, in Chinatown," the first story, represents a writing style lost. Can a murder in a church be solved?
