This is a good story about an ex-New York City Detective that moves to East Hamptons to be closer to his daughter and for a new start in his career. It's a fast-paced story that keeps you interested and guessing what will happen next. I look forward to many more stories in this series.

I absolutely loved Death Hampton, couldn’t put it down. With a terrific story-line full of twists and turns, it engaged me from page one to the very end.

This fast-paced book opens with a break-in at an upscale beach house in East Hampton. The lady of the house is home alone. I won’t reveal any more of the story because, with so many unexpected plot twists, I don’t want to spoil the fun. But I will say the book has some offbeat secondary characters who are priceless and who add to the enjoyment.

The book also introduces us to Detective Neil Jericho, a great protagonist who is smart, sexy, and tough. A former NYPD cop, Jericho moved to East Hampton to get away from the violence of the city. He now works for the East Hampton police and his assignment is to investigate the disappearance of a wealthy East Hampton real estate investor.

Walter Marks has created an irresistible tale of murder. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I can’t wait for the next Detective Jericho book!

This series starts as a stand-alone with an abrupt ending. Minor editing errors, no gratuitous violence or drag-you-down drama. Surprise twist ending and unanswered questions.

Intriguing storyline with descriptive writing that draws the reader into each scene. Flexible procedures, actions and reactions. Believable dialogue and characters with distinct personalities.

No desire to re-read this story. I am interested in other works by this author.

Be careful, once you begin this book, it will distract you until you finish it! I look forward to reading the other Jericho novels.

Just found this author and I absolutely devoured this book. Can't wait to read the next. Lots of twists and turns. Very enjoyable read. Looking forward to reading others in the Detective Jericho series.

I am usually "stuck" on the same authors but I am working on branching out and so glad I selected this author for this series.

'Death Hampton' pulled me in from the start and didn't let go. The story line was well written and played out well. Full of mystery, action and great characters. I look forward to reading more. A good add to your tbr list. The only thing I didn't like was how Jericho's morals kind of slipped at the end. Not to give anything away, but it didn't fit.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not a bad read.

My first by this author. I've just finished reading a series of mysteries where the reader has no idea who the culprit is until almost the end of the book. We are presented with the clues as the detectives find them. In this book however, you know right away who the bad guy is . . . you're just left wondering will they get away with it. Still the mystery was pretty good with a twist at the end. I can't say I was totally in love with Jericho as a character. He wasn't a bad detective. However, learing he had sex with prostitues while on the job while he was also married just didn't sit well with me. I don't think I can read any more in this series.
