Honorably Engaged by Kasey Stockton, book 3 in the Bradwell Brothers series:“He picked up my hand and placed a kiss on my bent knuckles. “What was that for?” I asked. “Practice?” His blue eyes bore into mine. “I was wondering if I could believably court a woman.”This book is incredible. I have been wanting to be swept away in a regency romance and I knew if I chose a Kasey Stockton book I would get just what I wanted. This is the third book in the series but can definitely be read as a standalone. I adored this book! We met Henry in the first story and I loved James in that story but was disappointed for Henry so I’m so happy to see him return!

What can I say about Marianne and Henry? Their characters were so fun. Each of them has secrets and they both find out about the other secret. The dialogue between them was so wonderful and I loved seeing their relationship grow.

Henry desperately wants to be rid of the guilt he feels. Guilt, because he wants to pursue his passion not what he thinks is expected of him. Marianne is suffering from something similar and when they meet it feels like fate. However, both of them need to let go of preconceived misconceptions and learn to trust and let the other one (and others who love them) in.

I loved the setting of the story and I enjoyed the background of the two and learning about what made them, well, them. Thank you for this lovely story!

I was worried the waiting would be too drawn out but thankfully, it wasn't. Just enough suspense and drama to make it interesting. The captain perhaps could have been given a little more back story, but it worked out well.

This story is a cute plot.
The dialog flowed well and kept me interested. It was a sweet clean regency romance.

My only complaint is the writing style, I'm not sure what it is called, but it is written in the first person but it switched between the hero and heroine. Each chapter determines which first person it is written in. I don't know about other people, but this interrupts the flow of reading for me often. When I'm reading I don't want to keep wondering if "I" or "me" is the hero or heroine. Once into the book, I can't remember if the chapter said Marianne or Harry. I often had to think or find context again toremember who was the first person in that chapter. Quite irritating. Hence only 4 stars.

I was just reading another authors series that did the same thing. All I can think is these are writing buddies that got this idea to write in this style and copied each other.

I would not recommended this style of first person writing.

I would not discount reading the book for this alone but, I think it would have flowed even better with a consistent single first person.

If you haven't read books 1 and 2 of the Bradwell Brothers, do yourself a favor and read them as well. Though you don't need to read them first, if you'd like to start with this one.

I couldn't put this book down. The plot was so interesting and perfectly suited to these two characters. Their falling in love was very credible and so sweet. There was enough to suspense to keep you turning the pages, but not too much. The center of it all was their love story and what a sweet one it was. These are two people who work as a couple because they start out as friends who share common interests and goals in life. Though pretty early on sparks are flying, their connection is not only physical. You believe their love because it's based on mutual respect and values. It's such a lovely romance that is also so healthy. You can just imagine them spending the rest of their life not only as lovers, but as good friends. You also get a good amount of swoony scenes, not just a scene at the end. You really get time to to enjoy their love, which is something I dont find in books enough. How I wish there were 47 bothers in this family so we would keep getting their books. Kasey Stockton is so masterful at writing good characters. It has been a while she has become an automatic read for me. She never disappoints. STOP READING REVIEWS AND START THIS BOOK ALREADY

“Let us get you home.”

“In your arms, I am already there.”

*Cue* long drawn out SIGH!!!

Dear sweet Henry, how I have longed for your story. Was it worth the wait? That’s a most definite yes! I knew when I read Properly Kissed last year I needed Henry’s story. He was such a quiet, sweet bookish soul. Then when James swooped in a married Felicity, my heart ached for him. He was so downcast and wounded, but he responded to the shock with the utmost grace and brotherly love. He took his mistake and used that situation to help Ben to pursue his desire of a relationship with Thea. Telling him that he should not wait and risk losing the woman he cared for. So when James and Ben find happiness, Henry was resigned to his lot of single life and his secret occupation. Until a chance encounter with Marianne Hutton.

I loved the dynamic between Henry and Mari. They were wary of each other and determined to keep their secrets, secret. But found that they could serve each other well in order to obtain certain goals. So a fake courtship was begun, with no danger of anyone losing their heart. That’s is until they realize just how compatible and perfectly matched they are. But a surprise suitor and dangerous encounter stand in their way of a happily ever after.

I’m curious if there is a story waiting to be told about Daniel Palmer???

Read this one if you love fake dating, slow burn romance, loving and supportive families, and bookish characters with a little danger thrown in the mix.

This book felt like it was very personal to the author. The last two books have set up the characters and it was very different from how I imagined the story would go. It was fairly convenient storytelling in this last installment in particular, but still enjoyable. There were very few inconsistencies and they felt like homage to her favorite Austen novels. I enjoyed the trilogy and would read it again.
