When the professor died, she ended up losing her job and the

relationship.

Overall, I liked this story. Good enough to read once and not a lot of unnecessary drama. Pretty straightforward and all about the main characters.

My dear reader, this is one very erotic, very hot twisted fairytale for those of us whose literary tastes embrace the darker romantic trope. It lives fully up to its title which to some may seem like an oxymoron. What? "Violence" mentioned in the same breath as "Delights"?
The tried and true inviolable rule is always; safe, sane and consensual. Our author bends the situation wherein the dark hero, Joseph truly believes he has consent. He sets up an elaborate space for play and contracts a paid prostitute for some period of time he likes to let his inner beast out to play his Dominant/submissive sex scenario straight through the entire period of time. He likes to begin with an abduction off the street. He stalks his contracted prey and they wear identifiers so that he always has the right woman in his sights. Did I mention he is a gorgeous man with billions in the bank.
Enter our sad, beautiful heroine, Liana, who broke up with her lousy boyfriend and she just left the funeral of the kindly professor who was her boss at the university. She was utterly alone without a boyfriend and soon to be without a job, so she thought to numb her sorrows at a dive bar in a low rent end of town. She spots a woman who comes into the bar wearing all red to include a red fur coat. On a whim or maybe it was the whisper of fate in her ear, she steals then hideous coat and leaves the bar. You probably have already guessed what happens next. The red coat was what our dark hero was hunting and he grabs Liana off the street and begins his game. It gets all sorts of crazy because Liana is a real kidnap victim but Joseph thinks she is just being a really good actress and disobeying him and his commands to increase his ardor. He gets peeved when he thinks she is carrying things too far and exacts cruel punishment at first. There is no rape involved because our dark hero waits until Liana begs for his ministrations. They have sexual chemistry from first meeting despite the crazy circumstances. Liana has secretly yearned for just such a sexual experience in which she now finds herself, but she does not know if Joseph is simply a madman that abducts strange women, toys with them and who knows what else. She is experiencing new found sexual excitement yet there is real terror mixed in with the hot dripping soul satisfying sex. What is this man's endgame?
The author cleverly writes the revelations wrapped in a blossoming love story. Can such a shady start end in a traditional HEA?
He is a dark mysterious prince with the hint of danger that carried her away from her dreary life to what end for our "twisted princess"? The violent delights of our princess reach into the reader's mind and heart and become mind bending erotic, hawtttt!!! entertainment. All yours for a click of the finger.

I happened to read this series out of order. And unfortunately for me, the only other book that I had read previously was book 4, which has an intertwined beginning with this one. They were so similar that I thought I was reading the same story. But I figured out what was going on and all was good. Until I realized that they were just too similar for me to enjoy. I don't think this would be a problem for anyone else, just my bad luck for picking up the other book first and not being able to separate them in my mind.

Found this freebie and thought, why not? I’ve read dark before, I’ve read Master/Slave-Pet before but this was quite different.

Accidentally kidnapping the wrong girl could have gone either way. Who knew how this would end.

Training this new Pet was quite challenging for this Master.

Scared and turned on was a new thing for this Pet.

I’m not sure how I feel about it. The storyline was good, the writing was as well. Just different from what I’m used to. I may try another from this author. Who knows? Maybe I’ve found a new genre to love.

I am so delighted to review this book for Linnea May as I loved this book. LInnea is a great writer and this book is cleverly written. This book centres around Joseph and Liana. Joseph has specific desires and turns to an agency titled Violent Delights, to fulfil them. Liana ends up at a bar and sees someone who resembles the woman who ex just cheated with so Liana decides to steal her coat. This decision sets in motion a powerful and thrilling ride! This story is an emotional roller coaster full of twists and turns that are unexpected yet every part is well thought out and neatly tied up in the end. This is a dark story and some BDSM were a little difficult for me - the read can be intense but this is a definite can not put it down book.
