"Clear your schedules and grab the tissues before even turning the first page of this stunner and get ready for an absolute rollercoaster of emotions!! One of the best books I have ever read!!" ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Could you raise the son he had with his ex?

Lila may not have been the love of her husband’s life, but they’ve built an enviable life together. Lila goes back to school shopping for her daughters and manages her thriving at-home baking business. Her husband Ryan is on partner track at one of Los Angeles’ top law firms.

But then Ryan comes home with some disturbing news: he had a son with his ex, Meredith. Meredith never told him. And now Meredith is dead and Ryan’s son is an orphan. Can the boy come live with them?

Without hesitation, Lila agrees to accept this sulky teenager into her home. After all, how else could she learn about her husband’s old flame?

A totally heartwarming and powerful story about family, secrets, and impossible dilemmas. Perfect for fans of Jodi Picoult, Diane Chamberlain, and Amanda Prowse.

Aviva’s lifelong dream was always to be a writer. From a young age, she wrote short stories that she shared with friends and family. When she went to college at Boston University, her love for writing led her to get two bachelor’s degrees in Journalism and Religion. She then moved to New York City and wrote for a financial magazine, where she wrote breaking news and in-depth analytical pieces about corporate bankruptcy.

After getting tired of the hustle and bustle of NYC, she moved to Israel where she spent six months volunteering fulltime with special needs adults. Ready to get back into the corporate world, Aviva then got an MBA at Tel Aviv University and worked for a consulting firm and a high-tech company.

When her daughter was born, Aviva decided it was time to get back to her lifelong dream and be a writer fulltime. She still lives in Israel, happily married with a daughter and a dog. When she is not writing, Aviva loves to run, hike, and be outside. Follow her on Instagram: aviva_writes

Thought-Provoking Must-Read
I am honored to be an early reader for Aviva Gat’s newest novel, Her Husband’s Son! I appreciate this gifted ecopy and am leaving this review voluntarily! As I was reading this book, I was thinking that this was a solid 4-star read for me, but by the time I was at the end, it really touched me in so many unexpected ways. As I finished, I knew it had to be a 5-star!1. Animosity and Warning Signals From the Son, Adam, Immediately - Adam is an easy character to be leery of and I had immediate disdain for him.2. Letters From The Past - We see Adam’s letters that he wrote to his dad, who he didn’t know, while he was growing up.3. Selfishness From the Husband, Ryan - They bring Adam home to live with them after twelve years of not even knowing he existed and Ryan doesn’t even take an hour off of work. He is never there. I had so much anger towards him for leaving Lila to deal with this kid.4. 😳 Oh My God….No! That Did Not Just Happen - When I jotted this in my notes, it was in regards to the one big catastrophic event; however, as the story continues, so many other twists kept dropping my jaw!5. Thought-Provoking Must Read - I will be thinking about this one for awhile! I just can’t seem to stop with the must-read recommendations so far in 2023!The only small wish that I have is that there would be some type of reference to where we are in the characters’ stories as the chapters go on. It took awhile to get used to the time jumps.

I could not stop reading this! This is the second book I’ve read of Aviva’s and her style of story telling is amazing. Every chapter keeps you reading as the chapters tell the story from different narratives. You never want to put the book down because you NEED to know what happens next. She’s a cliffhanger killer! The love story in this book is filled with so many emotions and things you would never guess. As a young entrepreneur and mother, there is so much to relate to in the book and you’ll find yourself saying “she nailed it, that’s exactly right,” while she tells the story of Lila and how her family came to be. The fact that Aviva wrote and self-published this book is amazing! It’s also set partially in Boston and makes so many accurate references to things any Bostonian or Boston graduate would smile at! READ IT!

I enjoyed this book, but the overarching plot regarding a child who ends up with a spouse of a husband is not unique. I’ve seen it both movie and book form. Regardless, this is an enjoyable read that is well written, and I particularly like the way the author entices us with the prologue. There are some editorial issues that should be corrected.

Her Husband's Son is a Hallmark-like story of Lila Clark and her successful husband, Ryan, whose lives are changed when Ryan's long lost son comes to live with them after his mother dies.

The book is mostly told from Lila's point of view. It was slightly jarring going between the past and present almost every chapter, and a lot of bedroom scenes to sift through. And the female characters aren't the nicest people...

Still a good book for any easy, relaxing read with a sense of family that is getting rare these days...

This could have been a really good book. I wanted it to be a really good book. However, Lila ad Ryan were such empty characters. Meredith was the most engaging character, yet she was the one who we weren’t supposed to like. I don’t know how anyone could relate to Lila. She is shallow, self focused, doesn’t seem to have a real grasp on life unless it relates to herself. I really had a hard time connecting with the characters in this book. Even Adam could have been a much more relatable character. I guess I struggled to understand who the author wanted us to connect with.

There were also some editing issues, like typographical errors that caught my eye.

Why did I keep reading when there was so much not to like?

I kept reading because I was hoping the author would redeem someone in this story. In the last eighth of the book, Lila becomes a relatable person.

I don’t ever want to take away from someone’s livelihood… but I really wouldn’t recommend this book to anyone because the characters had no depth. If you can’t connect with a single fictional character in a book, what’s the point in reading? I guess if there was an historical aspect that you could connect with rather than a character, but in this book, there really was no one to connect to. Even Ryan was full.

I loved this book, one of the best this year. Filled with love and heartbreak, it is about becoming a family. Written in a back and forth manner, it held my interest from the first page,
