Satellite of Love

I loved the premise behind this book: the down-to-earth good girl and the bad boy Rockstar fighting for their love. It sounded like it was going to be sweet and fun. But it wasn’t really those things at all. Instead, I found it to be uncomfortable reading. The author wasn’t kidding with the preface note warning that there were nasty friends and family ahead. For me, their nastiness was too over the top: the supporting cast are all losing their minds over things they have no say or control over. Maureen and Bear are pretty cute together but the angsty insecurities don’t give a good feeling about the longevity of their relationship. I love the way Maureen chooses to take her life in her hands in the end, I just wish there was more resolution in the ending. Too much stuff is still up in the air when the book is over. I’m not sure I’m invested enough in these characters to continue with the series. I received a complimentary copy of this book through Booksprout.

On her way to a blind date, Maureen's brakes start to really start screeching causing her to pull in to her mechanic's place of business. What she finds instead of Tony is his brother. After taking a look he tells her she has to leave the car which puts into play the beginning of a relationship that will alter the course of their lives. The dialogue just snaps off the page. I'm expecting this sexy fiery bad boy and I got him, but he's funny too. They both are. One of her best so far. Lols and feels. Just loved it.
