Publisher Description
A jaded spy reluctantly agrees to postpone retirement and extract a warlock from Nazi-occupied France. But when her cover is blown, she’s pitted against a deadly vampire who seeks to devour her.
It’s an alternative World War II, where magic is not only real but is key to winning the war. Isabella George, a battle-weary alchemist and spy for British intelligence, wants nothing more than to retire and find love—but fate has other plans for her. She parachutes into Paris, bent on destroying an alchemical weapon known as the Plague and nabbing Veit Heilwig, the warlock who created it.
It seems simple enough, but there's a catch. Someone within her own spy organization betrays her and exposes her identity, putting her life in danger and setting Marc, a Cruenti vampire, hot on her trail. Isabella is shaken by the fact that Marc wants to steal her powers, but she’s determined to regain her footing and complete her mission. She still holds out hope that she can retire to a normal life, but Marc won’t make it easy for her. He sends his minions, both human and inhuman, to hunt her down.
Adding to the complexity of the situation, Isabella navigates the romantic attention of two men, both of whom bring out the best in her. She must decide if they will be a help or hindrance to her, in her deadliest mission yet.
Readers who enjoy alternative history fantasy and mashups will devour this fantasy series that has been described as "Agent Carter meets Hellboy."

A captivating heroine
I've enjoyed keeping up with the heroine Isabella and watching her grow throughout this series. At the outset in The Tower's Alchemist she is like most young women her age: she would be happy to spend her time having fun with friends, reading brides' magazines and planning a future with the man she loves. But the world is at war and the good guys need her for her unique and particular talents. She takes on what she thinks will be her last mission: to stop the Nazis from deploying a monstrously deadly bio-weapon. That the details of the secret service she works for and biowarfare were inspired by actual WWII events made the story that much more believable. By Book Three she has gotten her arms around her powers and her unique potential without losing her humanity. I liked her persistence and dedication and especially liked the ending to Circadian Circle which hints at a whole new chapter in Isabella's life.
A wonderful Historical Fantasy
I truly love these books. Isabella is one of my favorite new heroines. She is a smart, capable defender of humanity and a woman who excells in both espionage and alchemy. Her relationships with her friends, the way she navigates both historical and fantastical problems and brings attention to inequality is wonderful. I love the magic of this book, but the deeply developed protag is my favorite aspect. Her thoughts, her emotions and her actions all reveal a woman who will not be dissuaded by any enemy--be it sexism or nazi wizards! Very cool concept, thrilling and well done.
I really enjoyed this trilogy!
I simply ADORED this Trilogy! This have me wanting another slice of history! It was like a roller coaster ride of vampires, warlocks, wizards, Nazism etc! It definitely makes me wish history was this thrilling and living through it! I never thought of a combination of Vampire Nazis and witchcraft and spirits and all that goodness would go so well! Escobar’s Trilogy did that for me; It was excellently written and well thought out! If you haven't read it yet, start from Part 1 of Alesha’s The Gray Tower Trilogy! You will love this and not regret it! You can actually visualize the events in your mind; as an artist, I was in total awe!! I might have to re-read it again, it is THAT good! I don't think Twilight stand a chance on this! I wonder if there's a movie in the works; I'd like this to be in a movie somehow or a graphic novel!!
