Romantic Times WINNER for Best New Adult Book of the Year

"I wanted to tell him all my secrets, but he became one of them instead."

Chloe Rivers never thought she would keep secrets from her best friend, Gavin Rhodes. Then again, she never imagined she would fall in love with him either. When she finally reveals her feelings, rejection shatters her, rendering her vulnerable and sending her straight into the destructive arms of the wrong guy.

The Rhodes twins never saw the betrayal coming. Chloe has always been their forbidden fantasy--sweet, beautiful, and tempting. But soon the lines between family, friendship, and love become as tangled as the roots of the treehouse they once shared.

Now it's too late . . .

Four years after a devastating tragedy, Chloe and Gavin find themselves crashing back into each other's lives. Haunted by the past, they're forced to come to terms with all that has transpired to find the peace they deserve. Except they can't seem to get near each other without combatting an intense emotional connection that brings them right back to where it all started . . . their childhood treehouse.

Chloe still holds her secrets close, but this time she isn't the only one with something to hide. Can their deep-rooted connection survive the destruction of innocence?

I really loved this book. It's one of my favorite types. High school leading into young adulthood. Chloe, Gavin and Devon (twin brothers) all grow up together. The boys' father had built them a treehouse where they spend a lot of their time. A lot of things happen over time that leads them to grow apart. This book has so many dimensions to it. There is plenty of angst and secrets throughout the story that surprise you and things aren't always how they seem to be. I hope to find more stories like this to read because it was just so thoroughly enjoyable. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. This is a must read for sure.

This book was nothing short of amazing and had me anxious to keep turning pages from the very beginning. I love second chance romances and to have it built upon the foundation of being best friends made this story that much better. I felt like the characters had the perfect amount of depth and background and I actually liked how it jumped between past and present when it was relevant. This book had me crying, sighing in frustration and laughing with a few little twists built in. The love they had for each other through the years is the kind you dream of finding in real life. Hands down one of the best reads of 2016 and I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
