The best series ever..... I am already intrigued by element controllers, but this...... this is much better. This series is about a supernatural race called The Elementai. I reccomend you guys read this series first, then the sorcery, the witchcraft and prison for supernatural offenders series respectively. Half the story is about Sophia Henley, a normal girl who discovers that she had magic and can control fire. Her sister, Amelia was a Toaqua(can control water) then reveals her she was adopted. The remaining half of the story is about Liam Mitoh, firstborn of Toaqua chief. The book includes an extremely wide range of magical creatures from dragons of any element to hippogriffs to manticores to leviathans and more. These magical creatures bond with an elementai and are other half of their souls. If a familiar dies, ao does the elementai. Liam Mitoh lost his familiar at the end of his 2nd year in Orenda Academy of Magical Creatures. He is sent by the Elders(most powerful) to retrieve Sophia. Read the story guys and i swear You. Are. Gonna Love it!

I love magical and mystical reads and absolutely love when they include familiars it just makes things more interesting. This book was full of it all along with the hatred between elements and elemental magic and all. The attitudes of the different houses it all brought to mind Harry Potter and Hunger Games and not in a bad way. I do love the direction the story is going in and yes was totally floored by the cliff-hanger, so now you have been warned it isn't a standalone series. There is plenty of action and yes a forbidden love interest. I have to admit I did take points off for the language. I was disappointed that there was so much vulgarity when this is supposed to be a YA and it just seemed over the top and the first time it has bothered me in this authors books. Other than that it is a great read that will keep you turning the pages. Finding themselves and digging deeper than they ever thought. This merry band of misfits take the academy by storm.

Brimming with magic and mystery.Really loved how the kids were finally not afraid to ignore an archaic rule of dating within your class
