In my children's books, my goal is to show that we each have the power to make life more delightful, richer, more magical by taking advantage of opportunities that scare us (or that we are sure aren’t for us.)

The main characters in Seven Kingdoms Fairy Tales take on challenges that I find difficult but worthwhile, like learning to speak up, take a test, get less than a perfect score, or find your way around.

Running readers through the emotional wringer is not my goal. :) The stories are designed to be playful, nonsensical, and intellectually-detailed with an anything-is-possible tone. These are books to make young, high-level readers think while they are having fun.
