At once, he is plunged into a quest for the six magical Signs that will one day aid the Old Ones in the final battle between the Dark and the Light. revisiting this book...I read the series as a kid 40 odd years ago ...loved them then and enjoying them now...well written and from an era the like of which we will never see again.

Well written, plausible characters, intriguing plot. Susan Cooper was ahead of her time (and clearly an influence for the Potter books)
