Andy Smithson: Venom of the Serpent's Cunning, Book 2 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged
Ancient Secrets. The Alchemist's Creed. What's Andy Mixed Up In?
Resurrection stone? Almost. The Stone of Athanasia has kept the king and his wizard alive for over 500 years, but a villain has stolen it, driving the pair to the brink of death.
Andy must hunt down the Stone along with the next ingredient in the curse-breaking potion. But as Andy and his friend, Alden, scour the land, things get unbelievably weird when they visit Oomaldee's ancient library and find a portrait that looks exactly like Andy. Andy holds the fate of the monarchy in his hands, but what fate do the library's secrets hold for Andy?
Venom of the Serpent's Cunning is the second novel in the Andy Smithson coming-of-age, epic fantasy adventure featuring pause-resisting action, terrifying villains, and witty banter, mixed with tender exchanges that will grab your heart and make you beg for more.

Andy not only faces wave after wave of challengers, but shape shifting antagonists while trying to reverse a curse enacted by Imogenia, the king's sister, from the Afterlife that leaves King Hercalon V and the Wizard Mermin on the verge of death.
If this isn’t enough, Andy continues to pursue a second ingredient in his quest to end a 500 year curse. The more I read from L.R.W. Lee, the more I’m drawn to her engaging writing. I can’t wait to read book 3. Andy, his best friend Alden, and a host of allies work to solve a riddle. In addition, they must find the illusive Sometimes Island even as Abbadon controls the territory around Oomaldee. When Andy ventures into a secret library he discovers surprising clues about his heritage that will carry him forward.
This series keeps getting better and better. I hope you enjoy it as much as I.
The cover is definitely adventurous, and I think it will attract boys who love adventure and slaying beasts :)
I bought this book back in July, and I really enjoyed the new adventure that Andy and his friends went on. This book had all sorts of mysteries and puzzles to solve. Action galore for boys who are imaginative and like to pretend that stick in the yard is a sword, and they are slaying a beast to protect all. As an adult, I found a few of the parts a little boring, but I think my son would love this book as well as many other reluctant readers who love their video game adventures.
L.R.W. does a wonderful job engaging the reader in the story. She is very descriptive making it easy to picture what is happening in your mind as you read. I think this next book is going to be my favorite, and I can’t wait to start reading it. One day, I will get this book and the next in paperback to share in my classroom library with my adventure seeking students.
I recommend this series to adventurous souls who love keeping the bad guys at bay with their swords especially if you love using your imagination. If you read book 1, you definitely need to keep reading. Off to read book 3 now :)
