About this ebook

"Gualicho takes a bite out of the ornithopod’s back as it runs away from her, causing it to stumble and fall. She jumps on top of the body and rips open its neck with her teeth. The ornithopod becomes still and limp.

Satisfied, Gualicho begins to feast. But, after only two bites, she senses something is wrong. She lifts her head and sees a Mapusaurus making its way toward her."

Blending fiction with fact, 50 Dinosaur Tales imagines the way 50 newly described dinosaurs from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous lived in their natural habitats.

Also included is a list of fun facts for each dinosaur story, and facts about 108 additional dinosaurs.

If you want to hear more about new dinosaurs as soon as they are discovered, listen to the weekly podcast I Know Dino.

"50 Dinosaur Tales: And 108 More Discoveries From the Golden Age of Dinos is the perfect blend of education and entertainment, as both young and old readers are invited to see the world through a very different set of eyes. Authors Sabrina Ricci and Garret Kruger bring to life some lesser-known dinosaurs from Earth’s prehistory, weaving unique facts into simple stories. At times, this book reads like Aesop’s Fables, if they had been set in the Mesozoic Era, while the post-story bullet points and reference materials give the book significant authority and impact."

As a dinosaur enthusiast it is nice to read a book that take a fictional spin on delivering the facts about the newest dinosaur discoveries. There are 50 fictional pieces created for dinosaur discoveries over the years, as well as links on where to find out more information. The links to the papers and articles is included at the end of the book if you want to dive into more scientific detail as well. It was a quick lighthearted read and is suitable for children and adults alike. The author took time to create a detailed landscape for the dinosaur “characters” in each of the short fiction tales” And you can tell that research and attention to detail were evident in the stories and fact sheets on the dinosaurs. I would highly recommend this book for anyone looking to get a little more than dry basic facts and tables about dinosaurs.

50 Dinosaur Tales by Sabrina Ricci is an entertaining set of stories. In this book there are 50 stories about different types of dinosaurs. These stories read like a day in the life of a dinosaur and blend fiction and facts together. If you are interesting in reading about dinosaurs throughout the different ages you will enjoy this book. One of the most interesting parts of this book is that it gives a list of resources where you can find out more information about the dinosaur of your choice. 50 Dinosaur Tales is a unique and interesting book blending truth and fiction.

This was a lovely book blending both a fictional story about dinosaurs while using facts about them to teach the subject. I'd love to see more of these stories in smaller editions which would maybe make them more appealing to not just adults but to a younger audience.
