I confess book 1 got me more emotionally involved than this one but it was still a very enjoyable read with some serious drama and a lovely touch of humour. The characters are likeable though this time Ava was a little over the top (no doubt baby brain) but I always liked Austin and Sophie was an interesting result of her upbringing. I still teared up a little over Jimmy and I look forward to seeing what happens with Emmett and Deja. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I wasn't sure if I'd like Austin at first. He slept with so many women. Sophie should have asked him to get tested before they were intimate. She struck me as a relationship kind of girl, but she's dealt with awful men who took out their anger on her. I think she should have gotten some professional help to deal with what she'd went through. At first Austin doesn't understand why she doesn't want him around but he starts to understand why and is gentle with her. I loved the stray Axel who decided he was going to be their dog. Deja struck me as a tough girl with a past who was protective of Sophie because she believed in her and I'm interested to hear more about in a future book.

This is book two in A McCord Family Series.and it is Sophie and Austin's story. This story takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions because of what Austin and Sophie has gone through and everything that they have lost there trust in and how they will work together as friend's to gain being able to trust again. The characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and kept your attention throughout and I couldn't put this book down as it was so good with the suspense and twists and turns along the way. I definitely recommend you read this book as it was so well written and definitely worth reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
