The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea: A Dark Contemporary Pirate Hostage Romance

I loved Poseidon's and Ashley's story and I am surprised how quickly I read through this book. Poseidon is the dream worthy alpha of the sea and his story I was anxiously looking forward to. Ashley's character was not one I loved at the beginning but slowly became attached to her and her plight. I traditionally like a little more depth and strength in the heroine but at the end I was a huge supporter. This story is one of a kind and I thoroughly enjoyed how the story developed and had some great little twists which added the perfect suspense. And lets not forget to mention Amelia's ability to write incredibly steamy scenes which are perfectly placed, not overdone and hot as.......

I have to say that even reading and loving Hades and Zeus (the King Of Shadows & the Richer Than God series) could not fully prepare me for Poseidon. Let me just say that this pirate looted my heart, had me all feeling swoony and hot and bothered. The storyline is lush and enticing. The well crafted and brilliantly developed world lures you in like a Sirens song and before you know it you are in so deep you don't ever want to escape and you will in fact be extremely annoyed when your real life intrudes. Ashley & Poseidon are complex and compelling characters that are forced to evolve along the way. That pull, that sizzle, that spark is right there lurking and simmering from their first interaction until that gasp inducing cliffhanger that will have you wailing, aching and so desperate for more. I need the next book like yesterday!!! This is my unsolicited objective review.

This book really pulls you in. The struggle of what the past has made him & what he truly wants is entrancing. Being thrown into a world she doesn't understand yet falling for someone she shouldn't want. Amelia really makes you feel like you are immersed in the story. Couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read the next book to find out what happens.
