Enjoy this Free Contemporary Small Town Amateur Sleuth Murder Mystery

My wife died in my arms, the victim of a nameless killer's bullet. I should have died with her. But God had other plans for me.

Fifteen years later, I'm back where it all happened. I just want to forget, but the past won't leave me alone.

Now, I'm asking a woman who I left broken-hearted twenty years before to catch my wife's killer.

I'm Father Tom Greer, a Catholic priest, and I'm playing with fire.

Engaging and believable. Very well written as well. The only thing I couldn't relate to was that Father Greers secret did not live up to the hype that was created around it. Other than that small detail I thoroughly enjoyed the plot, characters and everything else about the story.

The best book I've read in a long time. Extremely well written. I loved the characters, especially Father Tom. I'm looking forward to reading more of James Mathis's books and I'm about to download the second in this series. Very highly recommended!

I like the story and it kept me guessing to the end. Well written except for one flaw, which kept gnawing at me. The police found Shepps' and John's fingerprints on the lampshade, which is the murder weapon. I understand if the killer's fingerprint is not there, as she probably wear a glove, but how did John's fingerprint found its way there?? Half way through the book, I guessed who is Randy and that her aunt is her mum. The ending where the killer just confessed everything is a bit of an anticlimax as its too 'easy'... But the whole storyline more than make up for it. I still enjoyed and like the story! Kept me up most of the night as I had to know what next!
