About this ebook

I can’t breathe without him.

Playboy. Billionaire. Criminal.

I should hate him for what he’s done to me, but I’m powerless to resist him.

His touch engulfs me.

His demands conquer me.

But Flynn Campbell isn’t who I thought he was.

Suddenly, I’m thrust into a world of seduction and sin.

Ensnared by danger and power, foreign desires burn within me.

It's time to embrace the darkness...

And become a queen.

This story is an amazing tale that will suck you in from the first few pages. the story covers years. It is an excellent book. I first started reading this author under her other name/series. Definitely an adult book as the sex and violence can be quite graphic. Having said that the main characters Flynn and Barrett fall deeply in love. Yes there is a lot of violence, but it's usually begun by someone else. The main thing is seeing this main couple evolve, they start as strangers then become a team, each knowing how the other thinks. It's a book once started that's hard to put down. Emma Slate is one of my favorite authors. It is a long book, reading it via the box set is best as it is continuous. It dosn't feel long because it's so good you want to know what the end will be but don't want it to finish.

I was hooked at the start by the premise, and as Slate's writing style was better than average, I remained engaged in the story until a major plot-twist occurred. After that, the whole tale shifted and took on the tone of a movie script. While the plot was still interesting, the characters became cardboard cutouts, talking and acting like stereotypical goons. This might have been okay if the protagonist had remained developing as an open-book character, where we got more realistic internal dialogue to explain or support the new behaviors and attitudes. But she, too, became a superficial action-figure, though less and less heroic. Instead, readers were left with a narcissistic, sociopathic manipulator for their protagonist. It isn't even necessarily the lack of moral compasses for the main characters that lets the story down. Rather, it's the failure to evoke convincing motivations and dialogue for the hurried personality changes that lead up to a largely unlikable, lead character.

Sins of a King is HANDS DOWN the best story ever. Once you read this one....you won't be able to resist the rest of the SINS series. Barrett and Flynn will captivate your heart from book one and leave you longing for more each and every time.

About the author

Emma Slate is writing on the run. The dangerous alpha men she writes about aren't thrilled that she's sharing their stories for your enjoyment. So far, she's been able to evade them by jet setting around the world. She wears only black leather because it's bad ass...and hides blood.
