About this ebook

♥ My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding meets Virgin River ♥

He's number 5 on her 'love' list—tall, dark and...completely off limits.

Successful, reserved restaurateur Lane Griffiths is made of loyalty. He owes the Katsalos family big time, so is happy to help with the renovations of their wedding hall—at least until he finds himself stuck working with his best friend's gorgeous, but totally off-limits little sister, Yasmin.

Yasmin Katsalos is done with being a good little Greek girl. Having survived a near-death experience, she's made a list of all the things she was too afraid to do before, and is determinedly checking them off. And it just so happens that her big brother's best friend is the perfect choice for “seducing a tall, dark, and handsome man out of my league."

As Yasmin turns up the heat in her attempts to win Lane, she can't understand the dazzling man's reluctance to give in to their obvious attraction. And though Lane can't get the blossoming young woman out of his head, he knows that giving in to their desire could blow both their worlds apart.

Making the Love List is Book 1 in Tall, Dark and Driven, the sweet, small-town contemporary romance series that readers can't get enough of. If you love smoldering chemistry, witty banter, and big ensemble casts, then you'll fall for Barbara DeLeo's irresistible stories.

Yasmin and Lane's story made me think if there was a person other than myself who knew the crevices beneath my rough exterior. How lovely it would be. What Yasmin went through in Borneo became the catalyst for her to reevaluate her life. Her perfectly planned career, the careful choices she made before she nearly lost her life to a disease. She was full of passion, Lane on the other hand was the objective type. He was strict, overly responsible, pragmatic and beneath all that was a man who has a soft spot for anything filial. He was kind, he valued something that was taken away from him due to the separation of his parents. But meeting Nick and the Katsalos Family filled that empty void in him. To be honest, I wasn't expecting myself to be emotionally drawn esp with Lane. He was a man any women would want to have as a husband. He might appear or sound as cold and detached but he was so loving and selfless. Yasmin may have been infuriating at the latter part of the story for being a brat. But I'm also satisfied with how she redeemed herself. It was a lovely story that it made my eyes sweat.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This is the start to a series. This author is new to me and I couldn't wait to read it. Death was knocking on Yasmin door but she was able to beat the odds of the dengue fever and lives. She rushes home to be with her family. In her travels home, she writes her version of a bucket list and calls it a bouquet list. She does the first two, put purple streaks in her beautiful black hair and a nose piercing. Once home, she finds chaos. Her mother has left for Greece and her father is leaving the next day to bring her home. The family's wedding/restaurant is struggling. Her father put Lane (her brother's Nick best friend) in charge of renovating the Aegean Palace. Yasmin is the only daughter and she has been protected all of her life. She wants to break out and finally wants to live her life as she travels around but first she needs to help Lane with the renovation. Lane has sold all of his restaurants as his dream of having a restaurant in a top notch hotel is finally coming true within the next month. Lane is level headed and solid. His is set in his ways and will bring the outdated Greek Aegean Palace into the modern day. Lane and Yasmin are so far apart from each other but the sparks fly with they met for the first time to discuss the renovations. The hurdles are there for them. Will they be able to overcome them all to get to their HEA? You will have to read to find out. Yes, there are some highs and lows here. My heart broke in a scene and I really wanted to shake one of the characters senseless. There are a few sexy scenes that aren't in any great detail so a word of caution if you want a totally clean romance. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

About the author

Barbara DeLeo’s first book, co-written with her best friend, was a story about beauty queens in space. She was eleven, and the sole, handwritten copy was lost years ago much to everyone’s relief. It’s some small miracle that she kept the faith and now lives her dream of writing sparkling contemporary romance with unforgettable characters.

Degrees in English and Psychology, and a career as an English teacher, fuelled Barbara’s passion for people and stories, and a number of years living in Europe gave her a love for romantic settings.

Discovering she was having her second set of twins in two years, Barbara knew she must be paying penance for being disorganized in a previous life and was determined to get it right this time. It’s amazing what being housebound with four preschoolers will do for the imagination and she decided it was time to follow her writing dream. Funnily enough, those first manuscripts had not a single child in them.

With every word she writes, Barbara is sharing her belief in the transformational power of loving relationships. Married to her winemaker hero, Barbara’s happiest when she’s getting to know her latest cast of characters. She still loves telling stories about finding love in all the wrong places, but now without a beauty queen or spaceship in sight.
