About this ebook

You made your bed, now die in it…

Bored barista Selena Smith’s life is so normal it hurts — until an eccentric old woman claiming to be her aunt appears in the cafe. She insists on Selena coming to work at the Kindred Spirits Inn, her remote bed-and-breakfast. The only problem? The inn and its guests are anything but normal.

When Selena arrives at Kindred Spirits, she discovers magic radiating from the inn's every surface, paranormal patrons prowling its halls, and an inexplicable new ability to see flashes of the past.

But Selena’s newfound powers aren't spiriting away all the guests. Someone — or something — lurking in Kindred Spirits is desperate to exorcise her from the inn before she exposes all the skeletons hanging in the closet of Room 666.

Will Selena’s psychic sleuthing lead her to the truth? Or will the killer make sure she checks out for good?

Dead and Breakfast is the first book in the Visions and Victims series of paranormal cozy mysteries. If haunted hotels, visceral visions, and supernatural suspects get your wand waving, then you’re sure to fall under the spell of this new spinoff series that expands Lily Webb's magical universe.

Dead & Breakfast is beautifully written. The author's description paints scenes that jumps off the page and into the reader's imagination. The reader will be swept away and joins the adventures of the characters. This book should be read in a manner akin to sipping a hot cup of tea. Selena is picking up the pieces of her life. She is having a bad day at her job, when she waits on a customer. The customer tells her she is her Aunt Blair, she would love it if Selena came to work for her. Selena never heard of her, decides to talk to her best friend Jadis. Selena calls her Aunt and if she is ok with Jadis coming with her, she will give it a try. Her Aunt is more than happy that she is bringing a friend. Selena gets a wake up call about her family and apparently she has magic. They get to the her aunt's bed and breakfast, they find out someone is missing. Selena got a vision of a room that doesn't exist. The person that is responsible is still there and they have to figure it out before more disappearances happen. I found this first book in this series to be entertaining, great characters that are introduced. Selena coming into her magic, finding her footing in the new world she is in. Can't wait to see what else is going to happen for Selena and the others. The pace of the book was at a great pace, you didn't know who was responsible until the end of the book. You will enjoy diving in this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I am a huge Lily Webb fan and I loved the Magic and Mystery series. I was skeptical about this new series, but I absolutely loved this book. Starfall Valley is my new favorite paranormal place. Everyone needs Aunts like Blair and Kiki and a friend like Jadis. Kindred Spirits is the perfect name for the B&B and their paranormal family fit well together. It was nice to see new paranormal beings instead of the usual ones. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
