They trained him to be a soldier. They forced him to be a vigilante. He becomes their nightmare.

Adlai Blackson is a patriot. As a United States Marine, he serves out of a sense of duty and honor to his father, killed in action when he was seven years old. That day changed his life and shaped him to be the man he is today. To him, family and friends are paramount and it has been his life's mission to protect them and his country.

For over fifteen years, he's built an impressive reputation as a top-notch hand-to-hand combatant and uncanny reconnaissance and infiltration expert. The government took notice, recruiting him as a leader in the black ops team known only to those involved as Detachment M. All because he’s kept something locked away. Something he’s kept hidden since he was seven years old.

The superhuman ability to turn invisible for 40 seconds.

Now, Adlai's life is about to change again. The unfolding of a revelation shakes him to the core of his soul, igniting a series of lethal events that force him to choose whether to be the good soldier, the good son or… something else.
Blackson’s Revenge is a story of how one man is pulled into an arena of lies, betrayal, and murder. Of how one man struggles with his worst enemy: his own heart.

Easton Livingston has written articles for national magazine publications, newspapers, online websites, and graphic novels. He began his self-publishing journey in 2013. In 2017, he revamped his brand, re-releasing all of his books.

He writes superheroic-type speculative fiction weaving elements of action, the supernatural, and the psychological. He often describes his work as a cross between the cult television show 4400, Netflix’s Stranger Things, and the television show Fringe.

His first project was the miniseries novel titled The Dark Corner, featuring the Makarios Cadre, a collection of supernatural suspense tales. These stories that tie together that make a novel. There are five stories in all (technically six). The first three, The Inception Trilogy, are free for citizens of his R.I.U. (Reality Imagination Universe) which you can download on Amazon. To become an R.I.U. citizen, go to his sign up page at www.eastonlivingston.com.

These tales are the precursor to his novel Blackson's Revenge, a gritty military drama with an action/sci-fi twist which is out now along with the follow up in that series, Blackson's Repentance and Blackson’s Redemption, all a part of his series The Poltergeist Files.

Easton's books are clean fiction, focusing on fantastic tales for adults which often address mature themes (think PG-13).

His latest novel is the first in his new supernatural suspense series, The Nepios Conspiracy, featuring the return of the Makarios Cadre. Titled Pandilla, it is the longest novel he has written, coming in at 423 pages (379 in ebook). He’s working hard on the next novel, Worshipers, coming soon.

This is a really compelling story that absolutely had me biting my nails! Adlai is a wonderful character, much like Jason Bourne but a bit supernatural. I could not put this book down until the end. I am hoping for more by this author.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Needs a proofreader, but otherwise a good book.

The struggle the main character goes thru and the decisions he makes are heartbreaking but undeniably real. If you really look at it, it is not far fetched. Very realistic. Makes you think and wonder how much of this is actually going on in our world. What will he do next? What should he do next?

This could really have promise if it weren't so hard to read. FIRE YOUR PROOFREADER. If you don't have one- please, I implore you, get one. I would like to continue the series but it is too painful. I really hope the author does not surrender to complacency and will read his reviews.

This book bothered me. The grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and word usage desperately need help. Professional editing and proofreading could have provided this help. The use of the protagonist's superpower was boring and insignificant. It could only be used for a short time, and he dropped the use of this ability to infuse "honor" into his most violent activities.

His first mission was really interesting, and the author did a good job of jumping right into the action. After the mission, tragedies happened and betrayals become evident. The choices and actions of the protagonist changed the ambiance into a dark and brooding trudge through the depths of hell. While a reader of this genre might not expect sweetness and light, the plot descended into a single mood which demonstrated the author's inability to flow with the realities and changes of the human condition.

The author did show the ability to paint a consistent picture of a dark world. It's just not a world I would care to revisit.

This story is interesting. I would not have ended the situation as the author did, but then again I am not writing the story. While there is some slight inconsistency i how the protagonist handles the scenarios he encounters, it does work. The invisibility thing is quite a stretch though. It just doesn't fit well even though it allows for the character to do what he does. There are some grammatical errors throughout the book that should have been caught by good editing. To end the story I would have placed the recordings on the speaker system and passed the letter to every table. Minimum bloodshed and accomplishes more in the long run.
