IN THIS SEVEN-BOOK BOXSET:

BOOK 1: THE MISSING NURSE
Can Inspector Michael Angel find missing nurse Fiona Thomas? His gruesome trail of enquiries begins with a savage murder in an insane asylum over twenty years ago. But where will it lead?

BOOK 2: THE MISSING WIFE
Lady Yvette, the beautiful wife of a local MP is found choked to death in a reservoir, robbed of her clothes and antique pearls. Inspector Angel is called in to investigate. But the evidence is scant and he has only his guile to rely on. Can he stop the choker before he strikes again?

BOOK 3: THE MAN IN THE PINK SUIT
Celebrity art critic Frank P. Jones, aka “the Man in the Pink Suit”, shoots a wealthy industrialist. Jones strongly denies the charge, but he has the motive, the opportunity, a Walter PPK/S automatic, and no alibi. DI Angel must unravel the truth from the lies. Was Jones hypnotized, drugged, or is he simply a liar?

BOOK 4: THE MORALS OF A MURDERER
Duncan McFee is savagely murdered in a distillery where he was chairman. He’s found in one of the vats used to make gin. Yet none of the suspects is burly enough to have delivered the fatal blow. Detective Inspector Michael Angel is called in to unravel the mystery.

BOOK 5: THE AUCTION MURDERS
At the auction of Lord Ogmore’s estate, a man is stabbed to death with a silver dagger. Before long, DI Angel finds himself on the trail of a serial killer who leaves behind no clues, no fingerprints and no DNA. Angel has only one eye-witness — and he’s blind. Will Angel solve his toughest case yet?

BOOK 6: THE MISSING KILLER
A masked man bursts into a quiet country club to confront a young couple. He says, “Your time is up. That girl is mine.” Then he kills one of them. Witnesses cannot identify him and DI Angel’s investigation seems doomed. Faced with vengeful gangsters, crooked police and mentally unstable young men, can Angel work it all out in time and walk away unscathed?

BOOK 7: THE UMBRELLA MURDERS
An arsonist threatens to set fire to the luxury home of the local MP. DI Angel has two suspects. One has completely disappeared, the other is locked in a police cell. Will the umbrella man be able to execute his threat while still in police custody? DI Michael Angel must race against the clock to unravel this baffling mystery.

Filled with quirky characters and suspense, Roger Silverwood’s enthralling mysteries are perfect for fans of R.D. Wingfield, Colin Dexter, Peter Robinson, Reginald Hill, and Agatha Christie.

THE DETECTIVE
Fifty-something Michael Angel is married to Mary. They are a devoted couple but the relationship sometimes breaks down due to his job or Mary’s meddling sister, who lives in Edinburgh and imposes on their easygoing natures. Michael works at the local police station. He is committed to defeating crime, murder, and dishonesty of any sort, but has no personal ambition beyond being a good husband and a successful detective. He doesn’t want promotion with all the bureaucracy and stress that goes with it. He is incorruptible but always short of money.

Roger Silverwood writes crime stories about Detective Inspector Michael Angel who lives tolerably happy with his wife Mary in the town of Bromersley in South Yorkshire, UK.

Angel isn't a drunk. He doesn't take drugs. He doesn't smoke, he stopped a year or two back. He doesn't usually chase other women but sometimes he has a fancy and would like to. He's usually hard up and in debt but he's an honest man.

He has a reputation of always 'getting his man' - like the Mounties. That's not because he is especially gifted, it's because he's dogged, stubborn, thorough, and will use unusual methods if necessary.

If you start reading about him, you'll probably stay reading about him. His most recent Angel book was MURDER ON TIME..

He is busy writing another Angel book which should be out in 2022.

Just released is a standalone novel called THE GUILTY DAUGHTER which is a real page turner.

All titles are available on Kindle. They are THE SNUFFBOX MURDERS, THE MAN WHO COULDN'T LOSE, THE CURIOUS MIND OF INSPECTOR ANGEL, FIND THE LADY, THE WIGMAKER, THE SCENT OF DEATH, THE MURDER LIST, THE SNAKES AND LADDERS MURDER, MURDER IN BARE FEET and around 20 others.

Each of the seven mysteries sparkles with creatively written characters imbued with the personality traits and personal quirks needed to fill their role.

They are a fun bunch and together they solve crime after crime and usually several at a time. Detective Angel is not the boss but he seems to manage getting his way while carefully moving the chess pieces (officers and other characters) right where he wants them.

Great writing makes for great reading.

A quite interesting set of novels that will peak the interest of any would-be amateur sleuths. Good combination of mystery and wit.

Detective Inspector Michael Angel is a curmudgeon, who torments his assistants, yet is never cruel or unkind. He is a long-suffering investigator who befriends oddballs and looks out for anyone who might become a victim. Oh, and, too, DI Angel is very, very British. He drinks more tea than any British sleuth in my experience. These seven mysteries and their cast of characters were hard to put down. I raced through them as if I was reading one large, fascinating book. They are great fun.

Plagued by an inept supervisor, Detective Angle works in Bromsley, England. In each of the seven books, he solves murder cases with the help of his crew. Full of great characters, each book is great and each conclusion is unexpected. Kudos to the author Roger Silverwood

I like him as I like to watch the 80 or 90 series, no much of character development or personal life but more focus on the cases, and very entertaining.

I chose 5 stars, because the books are well written, believable characters, and very entertaining. Found myself reading with an English accent! I'm from Oklahoma, so that's a hoot!

I forced myself to read all 7 books in this bundle even though I was weary of the series after 3 books. The mystery and crime stories are interesting but character development was virtually nonexistent. The author gives us little to no background on any of the detectives. The lead detective, Michael Angel, dislikes how his supervisors speak down to him, yet he does it to his own staff. He has 2 detective underlings of who we know almost nothing and a police cadet who is charged with unexplained errands and bringing Detective Angel endless cups of tea. Female characters are either flat, like his wife who appears in a few books with no impact and little dialogue, silly, or criminal. A woman who witnessed a murder faints (come on!) and the only woman employed in the local force is attractive but keeps screaming about rats. The only interesting female (or male) character in the series is somewhat delusional and seems to be included mainly for comic relief and as a convenient plot device.

If you like nice mysteries without interesting detectives, you'll like Michael Angel.

All the quirks you can imagine. This a delightful series that makes you think of Sherlock but much more entertaining. The characters are fun and a bit mischievous. A great read.

Lots to misguide you...crazy humour with lots of twists and turns. Interesting characters in the story. Especially the inspector who had such a dry humour about him.

Enjoyed them all. Not too many different characters. Only one criticism and that is there is too much bad tempers.
