Publisher Description

The Family Guide is the perfect complement to Work and Rest God's Way!

The discipline to work can be challenging for all of us, but motivating children to work is especially difficult. As a father of eight, Pastor Scott knows what is needed. Let him help you teach your children what the Bible says about work. The Family Guide is the culmination of what has been successful for him and his wife, Katie. They have learned from families they respect, books they've read, videos they've watched, conferences they've attended, and—most importantly—trial and error. Inside you will find:
Four bonus chapters not found in Work and Rest God's Way, with accompanying workbook materialQuestions to help each family member find the blessings God has for them in their laborApplication assignments for each chapter to help you utilize the material
Christian family books are hard to find. If you're looking for Christian workbooks for adults or a Christian workbook for kids, look no further! Inside you will find a family workbook parents and kids can enjoy working through together. This is also a wonderful resource for group Bible studies. Whether you're a man or woman, young or old, parent or child, married or single, this guide will enable you to enjoy both work and rest as God intended.

It's not a Bible verse: "Do your best," but this truth is communicated in Scripture. Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might," and Colossians 3:23-24 says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." The Family Guide will help you do your best and learn what is the work of a Christian. Discover joy and purpose in all you do!

Work and Rest God’s Way

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Everyone’s walk with God is different. Keep an open mind and read thoughts and views from all over the denominational spectrum.

This is the companion workbook to “Work and Rest God’s Way”. It is split into two sections. The first part is a family activity. The whole family in encouraged to read and complete it together.

The second part pertains to the book “Work and Rest God’s Way” and asks study questions referring to the text. Try to have both the book and workbook while working on this section.

The second part once again brought up the on going question I have about myself, am I a Mary or a Martha, or have I started to achieve a start towards a balance between the two.

This will be a reference that I will revisit through my continuing walk with God.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Young Men In Our Generation Truly Need This Book

I grew up, not having a father. I never even saw a picture of him. I raised by my mother, who died early of HIV, and my godmother and her mother(who I called grandma). I didn't grow up Christian. In fact, I didn't become a Christian until I met my wife. Her father, who had been a Pastor was the one who led me to Christ. I bring that all up to say, I never really knew what a, family was. And I definitely didn't know how a Christian husband should approach different aspects of Spiritually leading a family. This book helped shine light on that. Any studious Biblical Christian that sees the chapter titles alone, will be motivated to digest this entire book. The content is rewarding.
