This is the type of feel-good holiday romance that everyone needs right now. Sophie finds a journal in a box of donated items for a church. She reads it and wants to get it back to its owner. She hunts down firefighter Cole and tries to give it back. As they get to know each other, they find what they need in their lives. I really enjoyed listening to this book. I adored both Sophie and Cole. I loved that they really connected with each other. I loved seeing all the other characters in the town and getting to know all of them. I loved all of the parts of this book. I loved how much they just worked to understand each other but not try to change each other. I really want to go back and read the first book in this series! And you better bet I'm looking to see if this one got made into a Hallmark movie, too!

When I think of Christmas stories, my firsts thoughts is all the Hallmark movies I will be watching. So when I got this book from Hallmark Publishing, I knew I was in for a treat. This is a sweet , clean , at times heartbreaking as well as heartwarming small town romance that will touch your hearts. Sophie Davis is all about Christmas. While sorting through some donated books to her church, she comes upon a journal. It appears to belong to a soldier. Her Dad was a veteran , so she has a soft spot in her heart for this unknown soldier. Cole Aaron, a former Marine and now firefighter as well as the owner of the journal, is still struggling with the demons of the war. He has no desire to have anything to do with Christmas, but somehow gets stuck not only with being that year’s Santa but also dragged into helping with the Toy Drive. As Cole and Sophie are teamed together to bring joy to the children, we watch Cole starting to heal . A reminder that love, hope and help can work wonders for the heart of a wounded warrior. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Hallmark. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Lovely Christmas Romance As a romance reader, I'm a total sucker for the wounded hero trope, so this series is right up my alley. In this book, both the hero and heroine are decent, relatable characters. I am a nurse who has seen some suffering from PTSD, and I think the author did an excellent job showing the inner thoughts and personal demons the man had to slay. The interaction between the couple was so awkward for so long, but completely understandable, and I could feel the pull between them—even when they were denying it. I love the idea of the Quilts of Valor. A lovely Christmas story that delivers the feels you want a holiday story to have. I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
