Dead man’s watch.

The narrative of this story is a bit disjointed. It jumps perspectives and narrators seemingly without rhyme or reason. The titles of chapters do help you to follow along for the most part. The story is engrossing but the constant skips make it seem like you’re stuck in stop and go traffic. A smoother ride would be more enjoyable.
Also I feel like there’s something I’m missing. The police chief and his detectives freely share information with Kate and CeCe two sisters and the main protagonists. I find this extremely odd. It’s both highly improbable as they’re civilians and seems like it would be against police policy to give out information on ongoing investigations. Yet oddly they treat these young women especially Kate with respect and deference.
That being said the mystery is quite compelling. It seems open and shut and yet too perfect a solution at the same time. While the police focus in on the obvious Kate and her crew keep digging. Along the way there’s some accidents, a lot of misdirection and one very surprising ending. All in all a very worthwhile read. I highly recommend.
I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily review this book. This is my honest review.
