I enjoyed the drama as Brianca struggled with loving a new man 3 years after the death of her husband. In addition the firefighter 's profession was a hurdle for love to overcome. I recommend this story for the young adult reader.

A great firefighter romance. Andrew is the eldest of the 3 Buchanan siblings, always good at giving others romantic advice, but his own life has fallen apart when he and his fiance split. He's sworn off another relationship. That is, until he meets Bianca and her feisty daughter Daisy. Plenty of ups and downs as Andrew and Bianca slowly find they're attracted to each other. Little Daisy steals the show, and Mama Carmen goes the extra mile in bluntness. A fun clean read by a great author.

I loved the Buchanans from the first volume but this tale of how Andrew and Bianca found one another touched me more deeply than their other stories.

I think it was mostly Bianca’s daughter Daisy that made the difference. She played a major role in this romance; I would even go so far as to say this is a romance novel between the three of them. Daisy reaches out to Andrew, her new soccer coach, so willing in her childlike innocence to accept him as a friend and then to dare to hope someday he’d become her stepdad.

Andrew, in turn, fell in love with Daisy, his heart aching with love for this fatherless girl. And then he and Bianca were drawn to each other so much so that when they were in the same room together they could hardly breathe.

It was Daisy who really brought these two together. I’m grateful the author didn’t go the predictable route of making her a spoiled brat, intent on keeping her mother all to herself. Daisy isn’t a goody two shoes but neither is she spoiled. She’s simply human.

Bianca has the bad habit of stuffing candy in her mouth when she’s stressed. Many readers will be able to relate to that. This is a habit that I found rather endearing.

I’d recommend this book to any reader of Christian fiction who longs for romance novels with solid characters and some depth to them.

Need to Read the Other Two Books in the Series First

In the beginning, there were too many family connections to keep up with. Maybe it would have made more sense to me if I had read the first two books in the series. There were also too many extraneous things going on that had no usefulness or importance to the storyline, and I found most of it extremely boring. I also found some awkward sentences with extra words and some grammatical mistakes. “Bianca finally let out the breath she had been holding all evening.” Really? She held her breath for hours, even throughout dinner. The book did get much better in the last fourth, but it wasn’t quite enough to totally redeem the first three-fourths.
