Although the author wrote this book before the current situation in the world, this story is timely! Cara lives in Fire Beach and runs the B&B there by day but really she works for the military trying to find a cure/vaccine for a deadly virus that could be released. Sound familiar to today's headlines? Aren't we looking for a vaccine/cure today? This one will have you on the edge of your seat rooting for Cara as she tries to find out who killed her partner and who is after her! Cole is an investigator and at first, he thought Cara might have killer her partner but soon realizes he's wrong and steps up to help her track down who is after her, along with all Cara's friends in Fire Beach! Can they stop the madman who could care less about people dying? Read it and find out!!!!

Once you start reading Secrets and Suspense you will not be able to put it down! This book has likeable characters in a relatively small town possibly threatened with release of a deadly virus. The action never stops in this fast paced mystery. Can Cara find a vaccine or treatment for the virus in time? Has it been unleashed in Fire Beach? Who is behind this? Everything is wrapped up in a very satisfying conclusion.

About the author

Best selling author Lorana Hoopes is the author of both Christian romances and Children's early readers. She is originally from Texas but now lives in the PNW with her husband and three kids. Many of her books are set in Texas, close to her roots, and her Wishing Stone books are based on her three children.

Her Wishing Stone books have been picked up by several schools and used as a summer reading book. They employ a glossary of challenging words and a resource list at the end so children can do additional research. She will be adding a Christian line to the Wishing Stone series soon.

She has several contemporary romance series spanning women's fiction, small towns, football players, and billionaires. She also has a speculative fiction series and a romantic suspense series.
